My daughter loves Yo Gabba Gabba and has several of the toys based on the show, the guitar, microphone, Brobie and of course, the hat. We actually have two because the first one broke in about two months as did the second one that replaced it. These things just seem to die for some reason. The first set of batteries last longer. A typical child may lose interest or just move on if it breaks. Unfortunately, my child is not typical. She is Autistic so she never forgets a toy and when one breaks like this one it creates a terrible situation because she don't understand why it doesn't work any more and gets upset over and over again which in turn causes the entire family stress. Even if you have a typical child a parent should expect a toy to last longer than this one does with normal use. My daughter just held it mostly and listened to the music and the Freeze song. I guess this is a non-issue now that the item is discontinued but be aware of the poor quality as the sellers will hold the price up for the last bunch around.
