Toys and Games Reviews of Storytime Theater with Winnie the Pooh StoryCustomer Review: Perfect. Just as Advertised. Summary: 5 Stars
I had to write a review after seeing the exceptionally critical one that said the advertising was misleading. We read ALL the directions and with a little practice, we got the hang of the projector in about 30 minutes. Now my 2 year old says "See bear, please." which means turn on the Winnie the Pooh story. She has a very large bedroom, it's about 14.5 x 14.5 ft. Her projector sits on her dresser about 11 feet from the white door it projects onto and she can clearly watch at least a 4 x 4 image from her bed. The directions state that a dark room is necessary - as with all projectors and, the lens must be focused (easily done by turning it with your hand) to acheieve a clear image. It only takes a quick push of a button to start it up every night for dd. We just leave it in the exact same place and leave the volume set properly. The three modes are great. The read along mode allows the child to use an infrared remote and buttons on the pages in the book to advance the images at the child's pace. "theater" mode is just what it sounds like. Our favorite is the bedtime mode that reads the story and automatically shuts off when the story is finished. The system requires batteries for both the projector and the remote, but we didn't put any batteries in the remote because our two year old is not ready to handle paperback books. So you don't need the remote right off unless you have a reader.
We plan on buying all the stories cartridges for our little girl. And we're hoping to find two that we can give as birthday gifts. WE LOVE IT!
