Toys and Games Reviews of Spinmaster Air Hogs Battling Havoc R/C HelicoptersCustomer Review: Extremely fun for adults! Summary: 4 Stars
My dad and I have been into remote controller helicopters for the past year. Last Christmas, I bought him a $200.00 eflite remote control helicopter. It was the eflite blade tandem rescue. They are highly advanced expert level remote control helicopters. For $200.00, you think the thing would last a while, but it broke the first day we had it. We went through months of repairs till I finally learned how to fly it. My dad who is 73 and used to be a real airplane pilot, unfortunately could not fly it worth crap.
I didn't want to give up and I started looking at some cheaper model helicopters for this Christmas. Heck, if Airhogs are easy enough for kids to fly, then my dad should be able to pick one up like nothing! I went along and bought these helicopters, the Spinmaster Air Hogs battling RC's. In the back of my mind, I thought these helicopters were going to suck and break the first day. Turned out, I was completely wrong!
These helicopters are AWESOME. I don't know about kids but if you are an adult with some patience, these things will NOT break. My dad flies these things around like a pro. They bump into walls, hit the ceilings, battle each other, and not once have they broke yet. They are also very easy to trim and there is pretty much no learning curve to picking up how to fly them. I am also blown away by the battery life, these things last a good 10+ minutes flying before needing a recharge.
My only very small complaints about these is they aren't perfect. They fly very fast, are a bit out of control at times, don't trim perfect, and they don't have an aileron (meaning you can't tilt the chopper forward, back, or side to side). Although I miss this though, the aileron is what was making my dad crash our other helicopter and it's a bit advanced for people like kids that will be flying this, so it's no big deal. The other things are minor issues. These things fly very stable compared to cheaper RC aircraft out there.
If you want a great present to get someone and have fun with on occassion, you can't go wrong with these. You pay for $80 helicopters and you will get $80 helicopters! These are a much, much, much, MUCH better option than spending hundreds of dollars on "professional" quality helicopters that break with their first crash. If you have a lot of dough to drop and want something that flies like a real helicopter with silky smooth precision and don't care about a steep learning curve, then by all means buy an eflite. But if you just want to have fun and buy these for a parent or kid or someone to have fun with, you can't go wrong with these!

Six AA batteries are required, but not included, for the remote controls. The helicopters are powered by rechargeable lithium batteries, and the charger comes with the set. If you enjoy the fun of radio-controlled vehicles, but don?t always want to leave the comfort of your couch to go outside and play, check out these Air Hogs Havoc Helicopters. Measuring a mere six inches long and weighing only a half pound, these small but mighty choppers are made for indoor dueling -- so you don?t have to quit flying just because of bad weather or a dark sky. A crash-resistant foam fuselage means you can perfect your piloting skills using the dual-toggle, single-throttle wireless controller. The twin drive props in back and dual rotors on top provide exceptional stability and precise six-way directional control -- up, down, left, right, forward, and back.
