Customer Review: Perfect indoor fun for younger kids with lots of creativity!

This is great. My 2-year-old loves it and so do I. The clean up is a breeze. NO play-doh stains, etc. Yes, it can get messy if you let your kids run around with it, but so does play-doh but that stains. This has gotten all over my carpet, fabric covered dining rooms chairs, clothing, hair (LOL, yes my 2-year-old is very active) and comes right up with NO scrubbing, etc. I found my best friend with this is a dust buster. This is perfect for indoor creativity as I let him play with it frequently because he needs little to no supervision as on the other hand play-doh I watch like a hawk because it does not come out of carpets, fabric, etc. I will say that play-doh does hold shape alot better so that will be our summertime fun, outdoors on the patio, but for winter fun, or anytime in the house I will always get moonsand.Customer Review: Duh it messy its sand!

Thi is phenominal prduct for your children. It keeps them super busy and it is very creative. My daughter and her cousins would play with it forever. They love it! Yes, its messy but nothing as messy as beach sand. Put it on a coffee table under the pastic tube it comes with and sweep the area when they are done. Here is a tip: use sandwich bags for the leftover sand. It makes for less clean up and accidents.
Great imagination toy. I would rather clean up after an hour of play time then have them playing a video game or watching tv. Worth it! My kids are from 3 1/2 through 6 and do not throw it around. They help me clean up the mess because they enjoy playing with it enough and I wont let them play again if they dont help out.

Okay, so everyone's biggest complaint is about the mess... totally agreed... you don't need the art table cloth unless you can somehow put it on the floor...
On the other hand... we played with this for HOURS. And I was definitely fighting with the kids over whose turn it was...
This is one of the best toys they own... great for kids who LOVE the sandbox and can't go outside during the winter.
As long as you know it's going to be a mess this is a TON of fun. I bought another one for my little sister (and she's a grown up with no kids!) for Christmas.
It's messy, yes, but that's why they invented vacuum cleaners...

The inflatable mat doesn't stay inflated as the stopper does not stay in the valve. Other than that, they give you plenty of sand. However, it doesn't come with the containers to put your sand into after you have finished. They are in plastic bags.
When you get past that, the kids have a blast playing with it. Just keep your sweeper handy so you can sweep up all the excess sand.
I gave it 3 stars overall because of the problem with the valve and no storage for the sand, but the fun the kids(ages 4-10) have with it saved it from scoring lower.

I have an older son who plays Travel Baseball and my 4yr. old son gets bored. No More! I take the Moon Sand to every game and it's amazing how kids from 3 to 13 all play together! It's even fun on the bleachers! Yes, it's messy, but it's a great way to keep kids busy for hours, yes, hours. I wouldn't use it indoors, but my very active 4 yr. old boy just loves to play with it and all the other kids flock to it too! I just get a smile thinking about how much fun they had. Make sure to get a kit with the playbox so you can just seal it and go!
