The shoes that come with it are a waste, but the video is good, cheesy fun. It teaches real tap moves. My daughter is now 5.5 & in a tap class, but still likes to watch Bella. We have carpet in the family room, but use a hard plastic mat that you would place under a rolling office chair. Then you can hear the taps. Go to "Once Upon A Child" & pick up real tap shoes.
