Customer Review: My 4 year old LOVES this

My 4 year old wakes up every morning asking for Bella. SHe is now Bella obsessed! She runs to her room and puts on her tutu and slippers and dances through the whole video. She has learned that there are 5 positions and while the video is on she tries to do them all. Even when the dvd is not on she uses the barre and mat to practice. This is such a hit in my house that I'd recommend it to any girl who loves to dress up and dance around the room. Its much better than watching all the junk thats on cable - plus she is active for the 30 minutes instead of vegging. For those whose dvd's came broken - I can't see how you can judge a toy's fun value based on that. And for those who say the dvd and bella are cheesy - I actually agree but since my daughter loves it so much I can't really judge it on that...Customer Review: returned it the next day

For my daughter Julia's fifth birthday I was pleased to have something to suggest to my mother to give to her. Thought Julia would love this, she goes to a weekly dance class. Had heard of it at Christmas time. I also read some positive reviews about it. We opened it up and tried it. The
dvd does have a long introduction and there's not really much to the whole thing. It was too fast for her to follow and she lost interest. She put it on again in the morning herself and told me she wanted to return it. There are just two songs and only the five steps are taught by a sort of annoying host, pretty much a rip off for the price. So, we returned it tonight and for the same price she got 3 toys she's very happy with. All kids are different and the great thing is you can always bring things back.

I bought this DVD with gear from Walmart at $13, steeply reduced from the original price. I am watching it while writing this review. The lead plummish oldest presenter/"ballerina", probably a teenager, is the worst dancer. Her ungraceful dancing style has little to do with ballet. Other little girls are just so much better. Unfortunately the camera was not focused on them.
The smelly plastic mat made with cheap PVC is slippery. The bar is unsteady. It has turned into a towel rack in our household.
The whole thing seems awfully and amateurly put together.
The best thing is clips from various actual ballet performances.
You don't want to introduce ballet to your little ones from this DVD. It has nothing to do with ballet, let alone Swan Lake.

While reading the other reviews for this toy, I wonder if people were expecting a miracle or something. My 2 1/2 year old daughter loves this! Granted the whole video isn't ballet, I enjoy the fact that my daughter now asks for fruit and veggies thanks to a song on the video about these "natural energies". I thought it was understandable that this was not hard core ballet, but rather something fun for your little girly girl. Our kit did come with a ballerina outfit and everything shown here for $20.00 from Sam's, and I think that's a great price. Obviously a $20.00 kit can not be compared to ballet training at a dance school, but toys should be fun, right? No blisters included in this dance session!Customer Review: Basic's of Ballet are here

My 4 year old recieved this for her birthday last week and I must say, the video is a bit corney from an adults view but for a 4 year old is was entertaining enough to hold her attention for the 30 minutes, as for the bar and the mat they did not match up for some reason, maybe they had a design change and did not completely change everything in the package, the bar on the dvd does look different from the one in the box, my daughter did enjoy the dvd, it covered ONLY the 5 basic ballet positions and nothing really else ballet related, but all in all it was cute and I would recommend it for at home fun and not instead of having your child go to a REAL dance studio for lessons...
