Customer Review: Great as a Car decoration during trips!

The Busy Bee playmat has very colorful contrastful colors on one side and black and white images on the other. At 0-2months old my baby loves to look at the black & white patterns and is just now begining to like looking at the other colorful side. He stares at it and it keeps him occupied in the car- I just hang it up where he can see it. The drawbacks of this toy is that it is small so I believe it does not make a very good playmat & the velcro is rough- therefore it makes a much better decoration to look at than playmat. But I am glad I got it because, as I said, my baby loves to stare at it :-)----> UPDATE: Now that my little guy is 6 months he loves this toy and it keeps him occupied in the car. I fold it up and put it on his lap in the carseat and he loves to grab at the little snakes on the edges and the butterfly! I highly recommend this toy!!

I got this item as a gift when our baby was born. I think it is cute, although I think the uses are very specific. Like many other reviewers said - it is not a good floor playmat because it's just not big enough. To be fair, the manufacturer discloses the size right in the description so this should be no surprise. I think the best use is to bring it in the car for baby to look at and touch, or hang it over a changing table. My baby stared at the black and white images for extended periods, and I'm sure it helped with her visual development. Even if it didn't, I am definitely satisfied with this mat because it gave us some quiet moments in the car. Mat = $18.99, Quiet moments in the car= priceless.Customer Review: Hypnotic toy...Great to help my son fall asleep on his own!!

A great hypnotic toy...my son learned to fall asleep on his own by stairing at this playmat!! I have it hanging on the crib and he will look at it until he falls asleep. He is amazed by it. I got it when he was 5 weeks old (wish I had it sooner) and he LOVED the black and white side. He never got sick of it. Now at 12 weeks he wasn't as interested in that side and I was worried that the magic was over so finally I flipped it and...ta da, he instantly was amazed all over again with the color!
We love it, and hope it works as well for you.
If you are going to let your baby play on it, please do remove the velcro. It is very sharp.

This playmat is terrific. My baby loved it from the day we brought her home from the hospital; she stared at the black-and-white patterned side for a half an hour at a time. It's especially handy, I think, that it folds into a triangle so that it's easy for the baby to lie on his or her back and look at it. If the baby gets bored with that view, you can just flip it to another side--one has a mirror that my baby loved. It's also very easy to transport and can be either tied or draped to the backseat of the car so your baby can look at it (regardless of whether your carseat faces front or back).Customer Review: Don't expect a playmat per say...but still nice!

When I ordered the Busy Bee playmat, I did not pay attention to the size of the playmat. I just thought it was a great playmat for my baby to lie on and play. Unfortunately, when it arrived, it was much smaller than I imagined, and there was no way my baby could lie and crawl on it! So now I use it folded in a triangle shape, and my baby plays with it in the car! It is soft, and colorful, with many textures to play with.
I still had to buy a other playmat where my baby can now exercise his crawling skills!
