Toys and Games Reviews of Skip Hop Duo Diaper BagCustomer Review: Loving It! Not boxy, easy access, holds plenty Summary: 5 Stars
I am loving this bag! The biggest selling feature is that it is very deep not boxy like so many of the other bags out there. It is easy to access whether you are wearing it on your shoulder or attached to the stroller. I use it as both a diaper bag and purse. The strap is adjustable so you can wear it across your body, on your shoulder or use the stroller attachments. I am a chronic over-packer and it holds everything! I keep all of the following in mine: extra clothes, diapers (8), bottle, formula, toys, water bottle, wipes, bibs, burp clothes, baby food jar and spoon, hand wipes, blanket, diaper bags, sippy cup, keys, wallet, makeup pouch, phone, pen.
I had a backpack that I loved at first, but it became cumbersome once we moved my son out of the infant car seat and had to start carrying him. I hated wearing the backpack as a backpack because it was too hard to access stuff with your hands full. I tried just slinging the backpack over my shoulder, but it kept sliding off. The backpack was also hard to get in and out of the stroller basket. The Skip Hop was the perfect solution for all of these issues.
Customer Review: Love the bag! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought the Duo because of the easy shoulder to stroller conversion, and would never get a different bag! I ended up with the orange (as it matches my Inglesina Zippy stroller), and love the functional outside pockets. I always know where my cell phone is, and the 'bottle' pouch is adjustable so that it can securely carry a water bottle, skinny 4 oz, or wide neck 8 oz bottle. I like the two zippered compartments on top for my 'valuables'-- the only criticism I have is the velcro closure of the large area. My cloth diaper case always gets snagged on it-- but, I guess, I could easily NOT carry my cloth case and get something else.
The changing pad is functional and easy to slip into the outside pocket. Overall, I have been very happy with this bag-- the EASE of converting it into a stroller bag ALONE has made it very worth the cost (and I found mine on Ebay-- so I saved a bit of money:-)
The best testimonial has to be that two of my good mommy friends have gone out and gotten this bag because they saw how nice it was to clip from shoulder to stroller!
Customer Review: Do NOT buy this bag Summary: 1 Stars
I did a lot of reading on this bag and was very excited to get it. After using it for about a month I have decided I can no longer use it. Specific criticisms about this bag are 1) It doesn't hold very much 2) It doesn't close from above, no flap or zip so if it's raining the water gets in 3) You have to dig to the bottom to find what you need as the bag doesn't open wide enough 4) Because you have to dig to the bottom and the way that it closes is velcro on the insides, my knuckles have been scratched to pieces on the velcro 5) Even the one feature that makes this bag stand out from the rest, the separate clips to attatch the bag the the stroller, is a negative because you need to hands to unclip the carrying strap and then the long carrying strap is no longer attached to the bag which means you may lose it. The reason i did give them one star is because it is a creative idea to have these types of straps. In short I have been happy with less expensive bags purchased in the past!
Customer Review: has great potential! Summary: 3 Stars
I loved the idea of this diaper bag! I wish the shoulder strap stayed attached but tucked away or something and the stroller straps stayed put also. You do need an extra hand to undo one and put back on the other strap. The bag is very tall an narrow so you have to creatively get everything in and make sure it goes back in the same way, (which we all know doesn't happen with a baby). The bag does tip over b/c the bottom is so narrow, and it does not close if there is even one extra burp cloth in the top.
I do not regret getting this bag at all b/c I love that it attaches to the stroller and you do not have to stick it under underneath. Especially for peg-perego strollers where the under the stroller bag is kind of hard to get big items in and out of. It does not look like a typicall "baby" diaper bag, and it does carry the basics (diapers, wipes, change pad, bottle and baby food), but it does need some more work.
Customer Review: The Best Diaper Bag for Under $100 Summary: 5 Stars
In my opinion, this is the best diaper bag for the money. The size and shape makes it really easy to use and it holds a ton! I love that it comes in so many colors (I actually got orange) and that it doesn't scream "DIAPER BAG". It is stylish and simple, great for moms and dads, and can be used as a tote afterwards. One of the best features is that it comes with both an adjustable strap to wear either on your shoulder or across your body and two straps that can be used to secure the bag to the handles of your stroller. It has a myriad of pockets (including an external cell phone one) and a changing pad. Why spend more?
