Customer Review: Wow! The Ultimate set for the Scrabble lover!

This is truly an amazing set that shouts "luxury"! It is aptly named "premier" since this is the most premium set of Scrabble I have ever come across. The overall quality is impressive and would make a great gift. I bought one for myself and one to give as a gift. The gameboard sits atop a substantial wooden box that has a drawer where you can store away all the tiles, racks, scoring pads and pencil - no need to scrounge around for these items when you want to play. I particularly like that it has the rotating feature and you can spin the board around when it is your turn - no need to crick your neck or trying to read upside down! The raised grid on the board also ensures that the tiles stay put when we spin the board around. The tiles have a solid feel and the brass details on the racks are a nice touch. This set is beautiful enough to be left out and it sits in our reading room, ready for anyone who want to have a round of Scrabble!Customer Review: Poor Quality

I am so sad to have to give this a two star review, but I, like others here, purchased this as a gift for another hoping that it would be a quality, long-lasting game to hand down. It's not. The wood is still rough and not finished well at all, the green liner inside the drawer is a cheap, green flocked plastic insert (think cheap cheap jewelry box insert) that was cracked completely through in several places, and the record book fell apart before we even lifted it from the case. I made finer looking wood projects in shop in middle school. If it weren't for my husband (the gift receiver) insisting that it's not worth the effort to ship it back, I would in a heartbeat.
By the way the two good stars are for the very top of the board and the letters, both of which *seem* to be made decently. And the fact that we love the game Scrabble.

Me and my wonderful hubby are huge fans of scrabble due to our competitive natures. I started out the champ but now I have conceded because he is very savvy at spelling 3-4 words at once, unlike me with my overeducated brain I tend to focus on big point 1 words. Anyway Let me get to the quality of the game sorry for going off on a tangent.
I feel that this game is great and it looks beautiful. It has a neat storage draw and a lazy susan to turn the game your way when it is your turn. The wood looks durable enough, but I can tell if you drop it from a midhigh distance onto a non carpeted ground out of your hands you may have some problems with it coming a part. I also like the ivory tiles and the pretty scoring book. It was definately worth the [...] plus S/H that I paid for it through Hasbro before they totally sold out.

I purchased this board when it dropped to 79.99 just before Christmas for a family member who is a big scrabble fan. Unfortunately its build quality is really not up to the "premiere" name it bears. The wood has lots of little nicks in the finish, the playing surface is applied as a decal that doesn't exactly fit the frame of the wood, the embossed score book had a manufacturing defect and the pages were all free from the binding. The best things about this set are the faux ivory tiles and their leather satchel, those are actually nice accents. It was a disappointment for 80 bucks, I can't imagine what it would have been like for the 120 it normally sells for. I previously purchased the Scrabble Diamond Anniversary edition, and for 20 bucks it has a far superior overall quality - even if it is only plastic.Customer Review: terrible experiance tricked

I paid double to this vendor for this scrabble set because I bought this for 3 people and everyone loved it, and I wanted one for myself they were sold out everywhere. It was suppose to be new when I got it, it was all chipped and used. The Vendor said sent it back right away and he would pay shipping but he wanted it right away I sent it back in two days. by Fed-X I got a bill for 68 dollars from Fed-x because he didn't pay. I e-mailed back and he sent a e-mailing saying that it should only cost 11.oo to send back and I was the one who chipped it. It was so badly chipped and used that I would of had it a year I sent it back the same day. When I called him on the phone he was very nice I feel that he tricked me to get it back fast so he could find another fool to sell it to for more money.
