Wee, wee, wee, all the way home.
Such a cute little piggy, such a babe, and with a matching blue and white gingham shawl, this piggy bank is a real cutie. The details are great. I have been looking at this piggy bank for many months now and just decided to buy it at the last minute as a Christmas present for my daughter who loves anything cute and pink.
If you are thinking to get this as a present, it is not a bad idea as the packaging to boot looks nice. Only, you may have to put it in another box before you wrap it as it is not a closed box.
As a piggy bank, one of the fun things about having a piggy bank is to be able to hammer it when it is full. But gone are the days, most of the piggies are now made of plastic and rubber. This one is made of hard rubber. Sure it looks nice to have her shawl around her neck, but that is the first one to go. You should expect that only to stay if you decide to place her on a shelf to display. But once you kids decide to hold and cuddle it, the shawls cannot stay in place, unless you glue it.
Cons:
To get the coins out the pork's belly, you will need to unscrew a plug. The plug is very stiff and my kids cannot do it themselves. Grown-ups can, but you will break your nails to remove the plug with your bare hands. You may need to lift it off with a small tool like a flat screw driver. Also, the hole is too small and taking the money is a bit of a labor and frustrating.
Anyway, that's where the story of the cute piggy ends.
