Customer Review: Great Kaleidoscope!

I work with preschoolers with autism and I needed a kaleidoscope that would blow their minds. We call it the "sparkle" because kaleidoscope is difficult to say when you're three years old. The box says it's for ages eight and over, and I agree that seems like the right age to allow unsupervised play with the toy as it could potentially break. However, I use this with my very young kids to show them how to be gentle and I supervise them closely while we are playing with it. The coolest part about this is the "liquid motion" of the glitter falling down the tube causing the view to continuously change. The kids also enjoy helping me assemble the two pieces and slide the rubber grommets on. The packaging has fairies on it but I use it with all my kids; the boys like it just as much as the girls.

The liquid inside the tube flows in front of the kaleidoscope's mirrors creating a fireworks display for your eyes. Each kaleidoscope comes with one wandWhat would happen if a kaleidoscope collided with a magic wand that was clear as crystal and full of glittery green goo and sparkly colored stars? And what if the magic wand was part of the kaleidoscope itself? Well, then you'd have a Liquid Motion Kaleidoscope, and you'd be having fun with it right now! This humdinger of a kaleidoscope is about the size of a flashlight and is covered in cool silver hologram material. When you slide the magic wand through two holes at the end of the kaleidoscope and attach a tiny O-ring to each end, the magic begins! With its wondrous, ever-changing display of myriad colors and symmetrical shapes, the kaleidoscope has captivated children and adults for centuries. In lieu of the colored bits of glass used in traditional kaleidoscopes, the Liquid Motion kaleidoscope harnesses the dynamic quality of a fluid to create vibrant, spontaneous images of color and light. The liquid-filled Wonder Wand (11.5 inches) slides easily into the end of the kaleidoscope (9.25 inches), and is held in place with rubber O-rings. In addition to the liquid, the wand is filled with glitter and an assortment of colored shapes, including stars, moons, triangles, squares, and hexagons. By looking through the kaleidoscope and holding the wand vertically, the contents of the wand will begin to drift down, passing before the viewing mirrors in the kaleidoscope.
