Summary: 4 Stars
I really like this mare, but the one problem, which is practically minor, is the color of her mane and tail; they are a little too solid color of gray for a horse in real life, in my opinion. Otherwhise, this is a sturdy, great horse that is a great piece for collecting, especially if you have the other two Lipizzaners. Though I will say that Schleich seems like something you would collect after you outgrow them and you display them instead. I display and play!
Description of Schleich Lipizzaner Mare 13603
From black to white, Lipizzaner horses are found throughout the spectrum.During the reign of the Hapsburgs, the nobility and the military in Europe were interested in a strong but flexible breed of horses to suit their purposes. In the late sixteenth century, Archduke Charles II founded a farm at Lipizza where horses were bred very selectively to become the breed we know and love today. The Spanish Riding School, located in Vienna, Austria, has showcased Lipizzaners in performances of classical dressage movements and training since the interest in these horses began.
Fun Facts: The progenitors of the Lipizzaner breed are recorded as early as A. D. 800.
