Customer Review: Beautiful, but more detailed than I would have preferred for my daughter.
Summary: 5 Stars
We bought a bunch of knights on horseback as party favors for our 6 year old's medieval themed birthday party. Because our 4 year old daughter will have nothing to do with anything unless it is somehow connected to princesses, or fairies, or at least has pink in it somewhere, we bought Feya to give to her. Like all of the figures we have seen from this company, this is well made, substantial, and beautifully detailed. Our daughter will absolutely love it... if we give it to her.
We're hesitating because the horse is perhaps just a tiny bit too detailed. At a glance, I would have guessed it is female, but upon closer inspection is most definitely not female. S/He has clearly defined male genitalia (I added a picture, but it might not last because it probably violates Amazon's terms of service regarding the posting toy porn). We're not uptight about stuff like that, but at the same time, we were little puzzled about why such detail was so painstakingly added to a toy. We will certainly keep it, and we will give it to her, but I might just fire up the Dremel first and stave off the awkward conversations for another year or two.
Description of Schleich Feya
Feya on her horse decorated with flowers.When she laughs, the whole world beams around her. The flowers bend their blossoms towards her and the birds excitedly sing their most beautiful songs. Just look how she dashes across the meadows on her favourite horse decorated with flowers. The hooves of her white horse hardly touch the ground as she rides. When, with her best friend, the proud princess Eyela, she flies across the sun-drenched expanses of their realm, the two appear more graceful than the loveliest butterflies. Feya's golden hair and pink dress merge in flight with her wonderful laughter. Sometimes she seems a bit fearful, yet in reality she is much braver than people think.
