Customer Review: An Expensive Disappointment

My boys received this as a Christmas gift. Due to the cost and the cuteness of the animals and the concept, the gift-giver anticipated that the present would be one kept beyond the boys' childhood, perhaps for their children to enjoy. I'm sickened and disgusted by at how much money was spent on this toy, but most of all by how far off it was from the original vision. It is a nightmare to assemble. It took two adults three sessions to put it together and it doesn't stay together, particularly if you attempt to move it. The roof falls off easily. The rails fall off of the back porch. And here is the worst part. . . the picture is not at all representative of the toy. You cannot really see the animals well once they are in the nursery and it is cumbersome to move them around once they are inside. Who ever heard of a five-sided doll house? What are you supposed to do, play with it with the roof off? It does not hold my boys' interest and they've already lost one of the pieces given that they come apart so easily. We were also given some of the accessories--the truck, the baby animal set, the corral, and the feeding shelter. The feeding shelter falls apart constantly and the corral comes disassembled easily as well. The side rails also fall of the of the truck. Did I mention that the entire collection is huge?
