I actually ordered this for my soon to be four year old granddaughter because she loves the character. The idea was to use it as a pre-K backpack but it's much too large. Because it's roomy enough, I decided to have her use it as an overnight bag to replace a long tired "Miss Kitty" backpack. I found no educational value. It is made of vinyl so I wouldn't suggest placing heavy books in it for older kids but clothing in it is safe enough. Lots of compartments although I woudl have the side pockets to be longer. Overall it's ok but be aware that it's very large.
