Toys and Games Reviews of Ravensburger Make 'N' Break - Family GameCustomer Review: Great game Summary: 5 Stars
We got this game for our 5 & 7 year-old sons for Christmas. While I may love games more than they do, they think this is pretty cool. The game is great for ages young to old because most of the diagrams are easy to build, the challenge comes in how fast you can do it. You can change the game to be more fair for all ages by adjusting the timer appropriately for age levels, rather than setting the timer by rolling the dice. There is the occasional tricky card that requires balancing and weighting certain blocks in order to complete the build! It's a fast-paced game that doesn't take long to play and it's even something you can do by yourself if you want to practice hand/eye coordination and race against the timer for your own high score. We've only had the game since Christmas but it seems to be well made and should last for many years.
Customer Review: Terrific family game Summary: 5 Stars
My son asked for this for Christmas. He plays it in his third grade math class. There are three levels of difficulty so our 5 year-old can play at level 1 and there are plenty of challenges in levels 2 and 3. I was surprised at how much fun we were all having. You are timed at how many block structures you can build according to the cards in a certain amount of time. Sometimes you have to follow the pattern exactly - design and color of blocks; other times you follow the pattern but can use any blocks reagrdless of color. It's best to play on a hard surface on the floor because blocks can go flying off the table when you need them!
Customer Review: Easy for the whole family to play Summary: 3 Stars
This game is a hit with my three boys 10, 8, and 6. I had been looking for games we could play as a family that wouldn't be too boring for the older one, or too frustrating for the youngest one- and this one fit the bill. Essentially you look at a card with a picture of blocks and then try to recreate the picture with your blocks in the allotted time. It can be played quickly and requires no reading at all. The boys think it is great fun, but I wish there were some more challenging cards, or maybe even a more advanced set of cards to use for the grown-ups.
Customer Review: Really fun family game Summary: 5 Stars
This game is great fun for the whole family. The age range recommends 8+, but my 4 year-old son plays fine. Unlike many other "family" games, this one is actually fun for the parents. And we play with our big people friends when the kids are in bed, and it is a blast. This game makes me want to throw away Candyland, Chutes and Ladders, and all those other tortuous games the kids have.
Customer Review: Make N Break a fun gme Summary: 4 Stars
Purchased this game for my 8 year old grandson as a Christmas gift. I had read about it in a magazine and it was touted as one of the best new products of 2010. It is fun to play for all ages 8 and above. We have played several times and he has won them all! I would recommend this game.
