Toys and Games Reviews of Radio Flyer Retro RocketCustomer Review: The cutest thing! Summary: 4 Stars
My husband and I are both flyers in the military. I immediately fell in love with this toy when I saw it. It vibrates like a plane at take off (which is the sole instigator in many laughs from our son) and there are 3 voice activated sayings associated with landing, taxiing and take off. The sterring wheel turns for better controlability. There is also a light in the tail, which lights up at take off, and includes sounds of a jet engine. The seat comes off to reveal a storage compartment bigger than you would initally think (allows our son to take along his stuffed animal friends on his trips). Our son has to push himself on it, so he's constantly working his leg muscles, as well as his coordination skills. He absolutely loves this toy!!!
Customer Review: Our 5 1/2 month old loves this! Summary: 5 Stars
I know I know... He's not in the suggested age range for this toy, but boy does he love being pushed around on this rocket! I think it actually has some educational value for him because it strengthens his arms for the crawling stage, improves his balance (he can't touch the floor yet), and he has figured out to push the buttons to make the sound effects. He also likes to stand or sit alongside the rocket to play with it.
We had a real tough time assembling this thing. The caps that you hammer on kept breaking. When we finally got them on, the wheel was too far onto the axel and the piece didn't fit onto the rocket anymore. Finally got it figured out though.
Overall, a great gift from Grandma!
Customer Review: Great toy for a 1 year old!! Summary: 4 Stars
I bought the Retro Rocket for my 1 year old son and he loves it. He is a bit small for his age and he has no trouble getting on and off of it. Not only can he push it around, but he loves to push the buttons, which are large and very easy for a 1 y/o old to find and push. It has a good variety of sounds and it also vibrates, which he also gets a kick out of. My 3 y/o daughter likes it just as much as my son, so it seems that it will be a toy we can get a lot of mileage out of. On the downside, it was a bit difficult to get one of the wheels on when we assembled it and one of the decals came off after a few weeks. Otherwise, it is a great toy for the money and the kids love it!
Customer Review: Cool Toy Summary: 4 Stars
Good news:
1. Kids from 11 years old to 1 year old loved playing with it.
2. Great features: various sound effects, flashing lights, and vibration effects.
3. Well made and durable.
4. Fairly easy to assemble.
5. Good value.
6. Wheels don't mark on wood or stone floor.
Suggested Improvements:
1. Installing the wheel caps could be made easier by screwing it on instead of having hammering it in.
2. Make the front wheels turn to make it more manueverable instead of sliding it to turn.
3. Make the body of the rocket slimmer in the middle so smaller kids can have their feet touch the floor.
Customer Review: CUTE Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this for my 18mo. It is low to the ground & could very well be used by a younger child. My child has short legs. I had to assemble part of it which required a hammer and screwdriver. Be sure to read the directions. Thankfully for distracted or impatient parents, they include an extra hub cap. (I did need it because I put it together wrong initially.) My child liked the toy immediately. It vibrates with one of the button settings which did scare her a little at first. It is all plastic and the seat lid lifts up to reveal a storage compartment. My child uses it to take blankie for a ride.
