Customer Review: A Favorite Toy through Two Boys

Our older boy received this toy from his uncle and aunt when he was one, and it quickly became a favorite. He liked to store and hide his little toys in the hidden compartment under the seat, and he loved the different lights and sounds that the buttons make. He wasn't quite tall enough to push himself on it when he received it at first, but eventually grew into being able to push himself backwards while sitting on the seat and eventually riding around the house with it on his own. Shortly after he outgrew it, it quickly became his little brother's favorite vehicle toy. Our youngest one, now 18 months, now loves to hide toys in it and play with the buttons, just like his bigger brother did before.
I've read another reviewer criticize the fact that this thing is all-plastic. I actually like the fact that there's no metal parts that can scratch or poke at my little ones. It is definitely durable -- it has lasted through 3 years of solid play by our 4-1/2 year old and now our 18-month old continues to play with it.
The only thing I would warn about is that one of the buttons makes the rocket vibrate (simulating the rocket taking off at the end of a countdown). For some reason, both of our boys were scared of the vibration when they were younger (around 12 to 15 months old). I had to take the rocket partially apart to disconnect the vibrator motor when our older boy started playing with it at first, and I had to do the same again when our younger boy started picking up playing with the rocket. I reconnected the motor when they each outgrew their fear of the vibration.
Overall, a great, fun toy.
