Toys and Games Reviews of Radio Flyer Navigator WagonCustomer Review: Super two seater wagon Summary: 5 Stars
We wanted to get a wagon for our 18-month-old twins for Christmas. We looked online and in person at just about every wagon available and are so happy we chose the Radio Flyer Navigator. My twins are now 23 months old. They have been using it for several months and absolutely love it. Some of the things we love about this wagon are: The two molded seats are more comfortable than just sitting on the floor of a traditional wagon. The door is great and they love to climb in and out on their own (part of the fun). The rubber wheels and shock absorbers actually make a difference. It maneuvers well, even my kids can pull it when empty. My kids use the sippy cup holders all the time. The handle folds under for putting it in our SUV. This wagon also seems sturdier than other similar models we had looked at. I was afraid my toddlers might try to stand up while I was pulling them, but they don't. They know if they want to move, they must be seated. I was also afraid of fighting for the "good" seat, but there are no fights, so apparently both seats are "good" seats. I have a great MacLaren Opus Duo stroller and love it, but the kids seem to like the wagon better. Actually, I guess it is a little easier loading them in the wagon than in the stroller. I would have to say though that the stroller is lighter and easier to push over long trips. The only minor thing I would like to change is to add some sort of locking mechanism to keep the handle in the upright position when stopped. It often falls to the ground. Overall, I highly recommend this wagon.
Customer Review: An awesome red wagon Summary: 5 Stars
This is one awesome wagon! We looked at the Radio Flyer Pathfinder and the Navigator. The Pathfinder did not have as much legroom in the footwell, or any under-seat storage. My kids are 6 and 2 so legroom and some extra storage are essential. The wagon is easy to pull on grass and pavement. The turning radius is very good if you flip the handle straight up and twirl the wagon around in place. The no-tip feature is great since my 6 year old likes to pull the younger one around, sometimes pretty fast. The door works well, though it is not a child-proof latch. My 2 year old can open the door easily. The cupholders are a nice touch. They hold standard size water bottles, Avent bottles, juice boxes, soda cans, and regular sippy cups. Glass Snapple bottles and wide-bottom Gerber Fun Grips sippy cups don't fit though. Another poster said their Avent bottles don't fit. I wonder if the cupholders have been widened? Our wagon was purchased in May 2003 and hold the Avent bottles easily. The storage bin is big enough for diaper changing items and a few toys. The drain holes are a plus for cleaning or water play. The rubber wheels are quiet and give a smooth ride. The only downside is not having safety straps for the toddler. But he's learned that the wagon doesn't move until he's seated. The wagon fits easily in the back of our small SUV (Volvo XC90)... We get tons of "wow, that's a nice wagon. Where'd you get it?" comments. I highly recommend this red wagon. It's been perfect for our kids.
Customer Review: Very happy with Radio Flyer Navigator Summary: 5 Stars
We researched all wagons, chose this one, and are very happy with our decision. The rubber wheels and rear shocks make for a quiet, smooth ride. It's heavy--so it's not as easy to throw in the van as our double-stroller--but the heaviness also helps it to ride smoothly and keeps it from tipping. We also like that it can really take a beating; with two kids dumping things in it and banging it around, it still looks new. While it's not a set of flashcards, the wagon does help teach kids some physical skills--loading things up, pulling and pushing, maneuvering around the yard--not to mention peaceful coexistence! (They have learned not to kick each other while sitting in it!) I've seen some reviews regarding wheels falling off, but I just can't imagine it with our Radio Flyer. The Radio Flyer wagons use plastic-and-steel end caps to attach the wheels, so you need to make sure that you've hammered them securely in place. We've had no trouble with this wagon or our smaller push wagon. The wagon was easy to assemble, with exception to the handle. For some reason, the holes drilled for the handle were not drilled all the way through. This was relatively easy to fix.
Customer Review: Loud but roomy, built in cup holders not for cups w/handles. Summary: 5 Stars
We just got this for my son's first b'day. Can't tell yet if it is durable but it seems pretty solid. The wheels sometimes make me uneasy but they always seem to right themselves, I take it over grass, hills, pebbles, rocks and sand. My son loves it. I would like it better had it seatbelts because my little bugger keeps standing up. As for educational, my son likes to see the outdoors and say hi to neighbors and he learns or will learn (I hope) that if he does not sit down, the wagon will not move!!It's a little loud on the street because the wheels are plastic but that's just a minor problem. It has built in cup holders that do not accomodate sippy cups with handles. It is a 2-seater, though I managed to get my son and 2 nieces (ages 3&1) in it comfortably. The storage bin has a hole in the bottom to prevent rainwater from collecting, which is a good thing. I wanted to get the umbrella accessory but reviews here show it not to be sturdy. This seems to be a worthwhile purchase.
Customer Review: fun and conveniance Summary: 5 Stars
We have 2 (very active) boys, ages 4 and 2, who love it and fit nicely; yet the wagon is easy to maneuver with both riders in. Large rubber wheels make the ride stable, quite and smooth. The handle is comfortable to grasp and it folds under the wagon when not in use. We can easily fit the wagon into our Subaru Wagon. The shock absorbers under the back seat are a GREAT feature providing the kid who sits in the back much less of a bumpy ride. In the space under the back seat we store a couple of diapers, wipes, change of cloths, a couple of juice boxes (the small ones), and a bag of snacks. I can even squeeze and occasional sweatshirt. What is the educational value: I suppose it has to do with sharing a space together without fighting (we are working on that), inviting friends to share a ride, and so on. We have been using the wagon for about a month now, and are extremely pleased.
