Toys and Games Reviews of Radio Flyer My 1st Scooter PinkCustomer Review: Perfect for the Youngest Riders - and PINK, too Summary: 5 Stars
I did a lot of research on scooters before purchasing this on for my newly three year old. She wanted a scooter very much, so that she could be just like her 11 year old big sister. The problem was stability; most scooters either have two wheels (one in front, one in back) or three wheels (with TWO in back). Even with two in back, the scooters tend to wobble and tip. Not a good thing for a young rider.
Radio Flyer (of course!) solved the problem beautifully. They put the two wheels in front and gave the scooter a much wider base. The result is that this scooter is incredibly strong, stable, and safer than the competition. It comes fully assembled, and my young one was riding around on our back deck in a matter of moments.
This pink version is perfect for our little princess. And I can already tell, she is going to spend the summer chasing her big sister around the neighborhood. Luckily, big sister is okay with that!
Customer Review: Awesome item great for ages 2 + Summary: 4 Stars
This item teaches balance, and patience I think. I also think it helps a child learn some control. I like that my ADHD child was and is still in love with this toy so many yrs later. It sits on my patio in the hot sun but its still as strong as it was 2 yrs ago when we got it for her. She also seems to be hard on it and its takes it like a champ. Worth the cash and can help with a child whom doesn't have balance. Just be sure to help and aid them and also reassure them and watch them on it and in no time you will see them become so coroneted. I also like the fact its so balance its self. She will make it fall over but she has to work hard for that or not care while on it. My other daughter also loves it and also rides it still. Shes almost 5 and is super special needs and we were scared to let her on it but she did so great on it. Shes blind in one eye and cant do so well on it even with his disability. Great buy!
Customer Review: Perfect 1st scooter!!! Summary: 5 Stars
My daughter wanted this forever. Whenever we would go to a store that had them out she would ride them about abit. I got it for her for her birthday. She turned 4, but is small for her age. I let her use it in the house as we live in the mountains and it's below zero out. It works good even on carpet. The wheels are oversized as is the base. This is in comparison to my older daughters first scooter which was way smaller in every way. This one also folds down flat which is a nice feature. Also it stears slightly left or right, something the old scooter didn't do either. It would just be stiff staight and you had to depend on your body weight to turn it, which is had for a beginner. I know she will be able to use it past age 5 as recommended because of her size and because my 7 year old can use it comfortably. I really don't think she would have been able to use this at age 2, she was just way to small.
Customer Review: great first scooter Summary: 5 Stars
When my not-terribly-coordinated four year old asked for a scooter for her birthday, I thought long and hard about the design that would work best for her. I knew she couldn't handle a two-wheeler, because they are just too tippy for her body strength. But the ones with two wheels in the back seemed likely to trip her up as she pushed herself forward. I'm very pleased that we ended up with this model, which met both of these concerns. The center of gravity is toward the front of the scooter, because the two wheel base is in the front. While this may make quick turns slightly more unwieldy, the overall result is that my daughter can scoot quite comfortably, without any danger of toppling to one side. The cute pink color is also a plus, at least in my daughter's book. Overall, I highly recommend this scooter, particularly for first-timers and children with smaller builds.
Customer Review: Perfect~ Summary: 5 Stars
My daughter got this scooter for her second birthday. And while I was concerned she might be a little young for it - she surprised us! She had the general idea about how to work it but needed some help. We'd put her on it and push it around (now almost a year later she can do it herself!).
The pros...its pink - it folds up so small that we can stick it on a shelf - and it doesn't tip over like some of the other models we've seen.
The con...it only holds up to 50 pounds. And while that is a good weight limit for the kids...the parents cannot show them how to use it properly...my Dad was trying to play with my daughter and was fooling around with it and almost broke it. Definitely not for grandpa's but works well for little kids!
