Customer Review: Endless smiles and giggles!

I bought this for my thirteen-month-old son. It shipped well and was not as complicated to put together as I thought it would be. As soon as I sat my son on the seat, he giggled and smiled and still does it every time he gets on. He hasn't figured out steering quite yet, but he loves to push himself forward and backward. He plays with the bell whether he is riding the trike or not!
Great feature: narrow but sturdy body. Narrow enough for my son to slide off the back end easily (unlike another riding toy we have that is too wide for him to get off -- he essentially falls off the side of that toy onto the side of his body). It's sturdy enough that I don't have to worry whether he will tip over while riding or while sliding off the back.
The wood pieces are very smooth! This trike hasn't damaged or marked any of the walls or furniture. I can't wait to take this outside once the snow melts in New Hampshire!
11/2009: I have owned this trike for exactly two years. My son is now thirty-seven months old and enjoys riding his trike every day. When we are away, the first toy he runs to when we return is his trike. He is tall for his age but manages to use the trike with ease...and can really get moving on both carpet and smooth surfaces! This toy is durable; it really takes a beating from my son and is still in great condition. My son is a sensory seeker and using his feet to push his weight helps satiate that craving. I have not seen this toy recommended for sensory seeking children and I am extremely pleased that such a reasonably priced toy is getting the job done! Today we tightened up the steering for the second time since putting it together, so for us, about once a year the trike needs about ten minutes of maintenance. Really a solid, durable toy - perfect gift to give just as a toddler is starting to walk.
