Like the other reviewers, I am sorry I purchased this trike. I too had a moment of nostalgia and always thought Radio Flyer created good products, therefore, I bought it for my grandsons. It is very easily tipped over which leads to lots of tears and frustration. The handlebars are constantly crooked and it's driven me nuts trying to "right" them. For preschoolers, I'd recommend Step 2's Tractor--very durable, easy to pedal, and kids love it (especially with the cart/wagon accessory attached), and it's never tipped over. I've learned my lesson: Always check out the reviews on Amazon before purchasing toys.Customer Review: pedal problems

I got this trike for my 2 1/2 year old. This is her first ride-on with pedals. But this is not the trike to learn pedalling on! The wheel rotates independantly from the pedals, hence, if you push the trike, the pedals don't spin, and, when my toddler tries to pedal she can't get momentum going because the trike will just coast without spinning the pedals with her. This same feature is quite dangerous because the toddlers it is designed for, may not remember to take his/her feet off the pedals to stop. When the child stops pedaling, it just coasts - think a two wheeler, if you don't hit the breaks, it keeps going.Customer Review: Great begining Trike!

The push-bar is a great idea! I bought it for my 2 year old niece, but the push-bar made it fun even for her little sister. The styling and overall construction is better than most toys today. Anyone who is having "trouble" with it tipping, that's what three wheelers do if they turn it to sharp: motor skills are learned.The assembly was easy and intuitive. Toys-R-Us was great! One of the pedals was broken during shipping (I ordered it trough Amazon)so I took it to the local store and the staff cheerfully gave me a new whole new wheel and pedals as the pedals are pressed on. I highly recommend this trike!

I bought this particular trike for my 22 month old and wanted to stick with the "classic americana". What a mistake! If I still had the receipt, I would return it. This trike tips very, very easily. It is difficult for a younger child to learn to steer, therefore, the adult push bar SHOULD come in handy. However, on this particular model, the adult push bar is completely useless. You cannot assist with steering, if you do, you will tip your child. The adult push bar is only useful for a straight line ride. My 2 year old son LOVES this tricycle. I gave the durability only a 4 because the extended handle is a little wiggly but is not broken, but the bike itself is VERY durable so maybe I should have given it a 5. He can barely reach the pedals, but loves to push himself around and once he gets some momentum he can use the pedals. I highly recommend this tricycle to anyone who is getting it for a younger child that might not totally understand steering accurately yet. We love it and are so happy we got it for him for his second birthday.
