Toys and Games Reviews of 20Q Harry PotterCustomer Review: Requires a lot of patience Summary: 2 Stars
I don't really get the hoopla surrounding this Harry Potter game. It's essentially a Harry Potter version of "20 Questions" and works like this: you think of anything relating to Harry Potter and then answer a series of questions, with the "machine" trying to determine what/who you're thinking of within 20 questions.
But the questions scroll across the tiny dot-matrixesque screen hopelessly slow, with no way to speed them up (admittedly the slow speed is perhaps ideal for a beginning reader, but with such a large 13+ and even adult audience following these books and films -- not to mention, advanced younger readers -- there should be a speed control option).
But the game is also in the shape of the snitch (sort off -- the snitch offered by Running Press is a more accurate design), complete with removable wings, which is fairly cool.
Overall, an interesting concept that is perhaps worth the $7 overall price tag you'll see through some online merchants here at Amazon -- especially if you're buying this for a young reader. But I wouldn't spend much more than that. And certainly NOT full price.
Customer Review: Fun & cuddly, but hard to open battery compartment! Summary: 4 Stars
Little joke there with the title. I don't think this toy is cuddly and its battery compartment is not particularly hard to open. Anyways, we recently had a party and the guests loved making it guess Bogart, hippogriff, Harry's scar, the elder wand, and animagus, just to name a few. This is a really addicting toy, and the fun is not so much in the stumping it as it is helping it guess correctly. The durability is not top quality, as the removable wings are prone to breaking. However its intelligence is amazing, as it has the ability to guess winged key first shot! However, its fun comes in little spurts, as after a while you are blank on things to guess. Another flaw is a budding Harry Potter fan will shortly be running to his or her parents asking who Mr. Tibbles is. People who haven't read all the books recently can get easily confused. Also, it doesn't seem to know about the little 'Side Series' books, which is slightly off-putting. All in all, though, this is a great gift for a Harry Potter fan, and I highly recommend it.

Customer Review: 20 questions electronic game for Harry Potter lovers Summary: 4 Stars
This 20Q Harry Potter electronic game is made to look like a "golden snitch" (the wings are removed for play). The game is similar to the age-old game of 20 questions but it is based on Harry Potter people, places, and things. I bought it for my 7 year old grandson's birthday and he is an HP fan. My grandson loves the game - his only problem was a little difficulty understanding the concept at first. The "snitch" asks the questions and you must answer correctly based on the Harry Potter person, place, or thing you are pretending to be. He also had minor difficulty reading the questions which move across the screen quickly in text-message like format. The adults (myself included) enjoyed playing the game as well. Note that this like any hand-held device - only one person at a time can hold the game at a time. Harry Potter fans will have fun with this!
Customer Review: Cute game, not hard to beat Summary: 4 Stars
I purchased this game awhile back and have used it frequently. It's a good toy to have when you just want to kill a few minutes. No major complaints. The only frustrating thing is that some of the questions do not at all pertain to your answer. For instance, you may have told the machine that you are thinking of an 'thing' (such as The Quibbler or Bertie Bott's Beans) However, the machine still asks questions such as "Do you like Harry Potter?" It doesn't seem to really matter whether you enter 'person', 'place', 'thing' or 'unknown.'
Still, a fun item to have and the backlight on it makes it very easy to read. It would be nice if the questions would go faster. There is a button on the side which does speed it up, but on the next question it is back down again. Worth the price they are selling it for here.
Customer Review: Hours of enjoyment for inquisitive HP fans Summary: 4 Stars
This is a great toy if you love the Harry Potter books or movies.
To those not already familiar with the 20Q game, it's a small, handheld electronic toy that tries to guess what you're thinking! The scrolling screen asks a series of questions, to which you press a button to indicate Yes, No, Sometimes, or Unknown. And the accuracy is pretty
consistent! I own a few different versions of 20Q, and I'm still amazed.
But the Harry Potter model is by far my favorite. True fans will have a lot of fun trying to stump the game with bizarre objects or obscure characters. I can also see this toy keeping kids quiet for hours on end.
And it's shaped like a golden snitch, with a display stand, and removable wings! Adorable!
I can't put it down, I really do recommend it.
