I agree with reviewer Karnstein. These are not what you would expect for pirate-coins. Indeed more roman period. They are also somewhat bendeable,... and I suppose you can bend them to break. The color also seems a bit off,... dull. I'd expect somewhat shinier. I'm not quite satisfy with them since they came up in search for pirate-coins. I don't remember reading Karnstein's review before getting these. I'd probably looked for other pirate-coins then.....
But I'm probably being too specific. Got them for a kids pirate party,... and I'm sure for the kids (4-6 year olds) they will just be 'pirate-coins'. They won't care/know if they are from the roman era. ... And if you let your fantasy go,... these could be from a roman treasure the pirates discovered,... right? ... I just wished they weren't so bendeable, and somewhat more shinier....
