I purchased this for my grandaughter for Christmas, she is 3 year's old and loves music. Usually she will sing but as soon as she notices someone watching she gets shy and will stop. We gave her this microphone and put one of her favorite videos on and she started singing and wasn't shy at all. She loves the foot peddle that claps and cheers for her and now the only problem is she wants to sing the same song over and over! This was her favorite toy this year. We gave this to my daughter over the summer and she loved it..used it daily. Great, but, the cord is very long. My dear sweetie did so much dancing with the cord that she pulled it and it was yanked from the base. Now it doesn't work very well if at all. We have given it a bit of lovin' with electrical tape to help but we are now in the market for a new microphone stand. I don't believe we will buy this one again. There are others out Just our thoughts.Customer Review: really cute

I purchased this for my niece for christmas.She is 5 and she had to have it opened right away she spent the rest of Christmas day singing for us it was really cute.Then her dad and brother used it for stand up comedy act it was hysterical. Of course it was a hit for a few days then she moved on the her other new toys but it's still around and working, it was really inexpensive and she loves this thing. I echo what others have said about the microphone. My two children (ages 1.5 and 3 years) love this toy. It has been the center of many disagreements between the two of them. However, the mic does die. It appears that from the childrens handling of the mic the internal wiring is somehow disconnected. At any rate the concept is great. My children love the mic and stand and even the programed tones the base of the stand plays.Customer Review: fun microphone for little singing stars

My 5-year-old daughter got this for Christmas. She loves hamming it up singing, and this mic is perfect. She can use it by herself, turning it on, adding music and clapping, adjusting the stand. She won't let her brothers use it, but sometimes they do if she's not in the room.
And the sound quality is pretty good. She can hear her voice through the microphone as she sings, which is a feature I wanted.
