I purchased this for my niece for christmas.She is 5 and she had to have it opened right away she spent the rest of Christmas day singing for us it was really cute.Then her dad and brother used it for stand up comedy act it was hysterical. Of course it was a hit for a few days then she moved on the her other new toys but it's still around and working, it was really inexpensive and she loves this thing. I was concerned about purchasing this due to negative reviews about the microphone, but my 6 yr old daughter loves it and plays with it all of the time. We have had no problem with it and she is not what I would call a gentle child. When carried the stand pops out of base, however easily pops back in.
