I bought this for my 3 year old and the concept of hot/cold is still a learning process with him. this toy is fun, however really wished the monkey would make monkey sounds when you get closer vs. an electronic beep/colors on wands light up.
purchased a second set with three wands for my sisters 3 yr old twins and 6 year old, it didn't even last a month. all batteries replaced in all units and still nothing. the wands light up but don't change or make the noise when close to the monkey, not sure if there is something in the house interferring with it but i don't think it works on RF. haven't contacted the manufacturer about it but I am bummed that her units didn't last and mine did. price is okay for what you get, should be cheaper since monkey or other animals don't make the sounds you would think.
purchased this vs the bunny from walmart that does the same thing because the bunny was on the floor and I didn't want to have to worry about if it couldn't move along because of carpet/tile floor changing from room to room - also the bunny was $15-20 more than this set.
