Toys and Games Reviews of RummikubCustomer Review: Great challenge and great fun! Summary: 5 Stars
My adult friends and I play this the most, but I also use it for a math challenge that is a departure from standard assignments with my 11 year old homeschooled daughter. We do not play with the timer rule, as that pace wouldn't allow for the adults to visit and would stress my daughter. Otherwise, it is much fun with no adaptations needed. Beware that if you've played a generic version w/ someone else that the rules seem to be different in every version of this (requirements to lay down, how many to draw, etc.) so don't let that start an argument - everyone could be "right".
Customer Review: a classic Summary: 5 Stars
My Grandmother was always playing Rummikub. If you enjoy rummy or card games in general, Rummikub is a great option for you.We always played on a glass table and as little kids we'd peek under the table to find the tiles that we needed. Somehow Grandma never batted an eye. Everyone saying that this is a game that adults and kids can play together is RIGHT! I only wish I could track down a nice ivory and wood set like Grandma had. Ivory isn't legal any more, but the way that those tiles felt in your hands ... well, plastic doesn't do it for me. Enjoy!
Customer Review: Fun, Educational, and Easy Summary: 5 Stars
Rummikub is a grouping of tiles, like in the card game Rummy or Gin Rummy. The tiles are divided by color and number, and include 2 wilds. On your turn, you either take a new tile or try to set up groups of at least 3 using your tiles and the ones in play. The groups must be the same number, but different color (a set) or the same color, but consecutive numbers (a run). This can be thought-provoking, when you want to take from completed sets, but have to replenish the set. I recommend this for a relaxing and educational family game.
Customer Review: Love the game Summary: 3 Stars
My family really enjoys playing this game. The tile colors are difficult to decipher with this particular product. The red and orange are too similar in tone to differentiate. We finally had to take a permanent marker and add a mark to the orange tiles to make it easier to tell the difference. The weight and texture of the tiles is good. The racks are hollow plastic and it is easy to see the number of tiles the other players have. Love the game but not this particular set of tiles.
Customer Review: Great fun for the entire family! Summary: 5 Stars
I play this game with my 14 year old son and my 76 year old mother -- we all love it! I bought 5 copies of the game and gave them out to friends for Christmas and now 5 more families are hooked on Rummikub. It's fun to see just how creative you can be! It's not a difficult game to learn so it's easy to get started. As you get more familiar with the game you can come up with more complex multi-layered moves to wow your opponents. We love it.
