Customer Review: A Very Fun And Unusual Dice Game
Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great game, which some people might remember seeing a variation of in the the second "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie. Each player rolls the dice in their cup, then turns their cup upside down with the dice still inside. They then take turns bidding on how many dice they think are showing a certain number. You can bid on any one of the six numbers on the dice, but you have to increase the bid with each turn. If it's your turn and you think the previous player's bid is too high then you say "dudo" (that basically means "I doubt it"). At that point everyone lifts up their cups and counts the total number of dice showing the number the player bid on (ones are wild). If you're right about saying "dudo" then the player who made that bid loses a die. However, if you say "dudo" and are wrong then you lose a die. In other words, it's real important you make a bid that doesn't sound too high to the next player. The object of the game is to be the only remaining player with at least one die left in your cup.
The rules are quite simple, but it's a difficult game to win. There's a lot of luck and also some strategy involved. As the game progresses it becomes more and more difficult to make a bid you feel confident about because there are fewer dice left to bid on, so you need to be real careful with each bid you make. Part of what makes this game so fun is all the guessing and bluffing that's involved. It can be so unpredictable since you have no clue what your opponents have rolled. You never know who's going to play well, who's going to struggle, let alone who's going to win. When you lose, you can't help but think back to one or two poor decisions you made earlier in the game, because those can make a huge difference in the overall outcome. It's such a great game and it's such a rewarding feeling when you win the game because all the effort that went into each call has paid off. It's best to play this game with 5 or 6 people (6 is the maximum), because the more players there are the more dice there are to bid on, which makes the game longer and even more fun and also more rewarding if you win.

Start with 5 dice each and roll them on the table, using the cup to hide the results from everyone else. Taking turns, each player calls out how many dice of a given number appear under everyone's cups combined. Each bid must be higher than the last. If you don't think you can go any higher, challenge the last bidder. But be careful - whoever is wrong loses a die.
