Toys and Games Reviews of MastermindCustomer Review: It's a fun game Summary: 4 Stars
Our seven year old son loves the game. And he is really good at it. I think it was recommend for kids 8 and up. I guess, you could easily offer it to kids 6 and up. But still our son likes playing it again and again. It is kind of educational as well, because they have to draw logical conclusions. I think it beeing easier than "Battelship". The number of pins is unfortunately pretty limited. That's the only negative thing about the game - for that price they could have added some "spare pins"...
Customer Review: Stimulating and Fun Summary: 5 Stars
There is a reason this game has stood the test of time. this game is very fun and very stimulating. we got this game for our 5 year old's birthday. He's a little young to play with no help, but it's very easy to give hints or adjust for ability in this game and he is learning great deductive reasoning skills. And what kid doesn't love to "crack a code" or make up a code themselves?! I wish that it was easier to get the pieces in the pockets to fold it up, but that is my only complaint.
Customer Review: Warning on the shipped product colors!!! Summary: 4 Stars
This is great "mind" game, however I received it from Amazon but I must write here a warning note about the game's board colors that are just horrible!!! The image on the product page has nothing to do with the frightful blue-yellow colors of the board shipped. Obviously it isn't the original MasterMind I was supposed to buy, very dissapointing. Its manufacturer looks poor also. Too bad for a game as good as this. You have been warned.
Customer Review: Mastermind Summary: 4 Stars
Mastermind -- it's the same great timeless logic game. It's great fun and has been a wonderful way to teach my 6-yr-old how to think logically. However, the physical design has some significant flaws. Not all the pieces fit completely in the storage tray. Nor does the tray latch shut. Thus it is very easy for everything to spill out. The tray cover easily gets stuck on the playing pieces, making it difficult to close.
Customer Review: Needs Tweaking Summary: 4 Stars
I had the original version years ago, so when I saw the new one, I bought it for my grandson. He loves the game, but I gave it 4 stars because it's not as durable as the original, it's hard for big fingers to maneuver the pegs, and the colors are horrible. They're all pastels and the yellow, gold, and white are so similar it's hard to tell them apart in bad lighting. Still, a very fun game that teaches deductive reasoning.
