Toys and Games Reviews of Power Player 76000/ 76 in 1 Super Joystick & Power GunCustomer Review: Excellent video game for the price Summary: 5 Stars
This video game does have a harsh chemical odor when you first remove it from the box, but once it airs out it's not so bad then. Just try to keep it out in the open instead of putting it in a drawer or back in the box it comes in. The chemical smell never does completely go away though.
It really does has 76,000 video games on it, and the gun that comes with it works great to play the shooting games like Duck Hunt or Clay Shooting. This has so many old time favorite games that are not even listed on the site description. Pac-Man, Tetris, Donkey Kong, Mario, Super Mario, Dig Dug, Galaga, and so many, many more. With 76K to choose from, there should be something for everyone to enjoy in this video game.
I also like that it does not use batteries, but comes with an AC adaptor.
You simply plug it into your AV yellow and white cables input on your tv set and the power plug into the electrical outlet and plug either the gun on the Super Joy or the regular one into it and turn it on and play games. The gun was silver plastic with a black plastic handle but it is nice looking and handles well.
I suggest you take some time to figure out what each button will do since there are no instructions on how to play any of these games. So you will either have to remember how to play them from yesteryears or find out how from another person or do some research online to find out how.
So far I have not found a way to Reset it to go back to the games index. I have to unplug it to play another game, even though it has a Reset button on it.
For the price, even with shipping added to it, this is definitely a video game worth having for you and your family to enjoy to keep from getting bored on rainy or dreary days. I also like that one person can play any of these games. So for singles who are alone in life, this works out to be a great game to have as well to occupy your time or mind.
Some of the games are not what they are listed as in the index, and some of them are in Japanese. The game called Toy Story is something called Circus Charlie when you click on it. You still have a lot of games to choose from to play though.
For anyone looking for something inexpensive in a video games plug and play system to have to play at home, this one cannot be found at a better deal than at Amazon.com because it has Atari, Nintendo, Super Nintendo, and Sega Genesis games on it. You might be pleasantly surprised to find all your old favorites in one system. I was, and I am so glad I bought it now.
Customer Review: Great when it works! Summary: 4 Stars
I ordered this as a Christmas present for my wife. She LOVES old school Super Mario Bros. We were going to get a Wii, just becase Mario was coming out for it. Well, the first one that arrived was the red one. We plugged it into the TV and it started right up. Mario was there and she started playing. About 10 seconds in, the screen went blank. Discovered, it was a loose connection in the power button.
The company that sold it, One Stop Shop was amazing with the customer service. One phone call, and a 2nd one was sent to me. They said they had a rush on them at Christmas and apologized for not in-house testing for quality control like they normally do. They were just trying to get them out by Christmas. Anyway, they didn't even want the red one back. Told me to mess around with it and if I could fix it, then I'd have 2 of them. Said they were the largest dealer on the internet for the product and all they had to do was tell their supplier there was a problem and they'd get credit for it.
Anyway, within a week, a black version of the Power Play arrived and it works flawlessly!!! Mario Bros. works perfectly and it has a bunch of other games as well. Mario is what we bought it for, so that's about all that's ever been played. It does have Pac Man which works great too and also F-1 (Pole Position) which works great.
Now, here's the thing you should know. Red and Black are different. Red has a way to play with a battery pack....So you could use it in your vehicle if you had AV inputs on your dvd system or something. That's a cool feature. Black does not have the ability to do that. So, I am going to see if I can get the red one to work so when our son is older, he might be able to play with it. Also, they each have a few different games. Both had Mario Bros. so that was why we bought it. I noticed that red had 10-yard Fight (not on Black) and black has Paperboy and Excitebike (didn't see on red).
I guess if there is a particular gae you want, be sure you get the right color. The best thing I can suggest...But it from ONE STOP SHOP. They were awesome for customer service and I know they could probably help with the correct color if it mattered to you.
Customer Review: It's a BOOTLEG NES PIRATE!!!!! Summary: 4 Stars
Before I talk about how awesome this is, take some time to notice the ILLEGAL factors. This is legal for your purchase and using, but it was illegally made. This was made by a company that re-engineered a Nintendo 64 controller, and loaded it with an emulator and NES roms. Since it is emulation, roms and emulators are ment to be free, and it is illegal to sell them. The company making this was claimed guilty at court with Nintendo, and thousands of units were taken away. These units are for sale here on Amazon.
Now let's talk about the thing itself. The main guts are in the N64 controller, a Sega Genesis controller can be plugged in for 2P gaming, and the light gun is functional. I don't see why the makers would keep all of the yellow c buttons on the N64 controller when all you nees is an A and a B. Same with the Genesis controller. Also on the N64 controller, the center handle is just for show, and the analog stick does NOTHING. Some of the games on the title screen with the list of games are named the wrong way. If it says the name of a game, it will take you to a different one. The NES games are a good selection, and they have cery good sound and quality.
On the back of the main controller is a cartidge slot that accepts only Japanese Famicom games rather than the American NES games. However, with an international pin connector you can play your actual NES cartridges on it. I haven't tested this feature yet. So if you like having the magic of emulation by your side, and love NES games, its a useful little thing.
Customer Review: Got it to work! Summary: 4 Stars
At first when I got it I asked my brother to set it up. Anyways, to make a long story short, at first I was disappointed because the best we could get was large black and white pixels and no sound, and most games not working. So I was planning to send it back.
But I told my brother, please please, just test all the different audio/video jacks, maybe it will work on a different one. And he kept saying, no,no, they're all the same. But I would'nt give up and finally he did try it (he has about 4 different audio/video inputs on his tv)And yep, got the color, and sound and the games working.
So, I'm really happy and excited now!
But just to warn modern folk used to playstation, xbox, etc. These are not those type of games. Its more for nostaglia of the 80's old primitive arcade type games from eons and eons ago.Kids used to the modern type probably won't like it,and say what the heck is this? but then kids never exposed to any type of video games might like how simple these games are even more. Who knows.
Anyways I think it's a fun value (but I could'nt kill a single duck even with the gun right on the screen)But there are lots more games even taking out the shooting ones. So I give it a thumbs up.
Customer Review: What you really get Summary: 1 Stars
What do you get from this product?
Up side: a whole lot of games. Down side: oh let me count the ways...
* This product has many blatant unauthorized uses of copyrighted material and is therefore ILLEGAL.
* Many of the games use the titles of popular franchises (unauthorized) and are in fact only unrelated games that were used (without permission) but hacked and altered graphically to appear to be from those franchises
* Many games are duplicates, with some graphical alterations
* The only "Joystick" included is an unnecessary screw-on extension to the second controller only, with a fake plastic joystick on the front of the main controller only being present to mimic the look of Nintendo's N64 controller
* The cartridge slot on the back of the controller (right where your fingers go) makes it probably the least comfortable controller I've ever held
* Construction is cheap cheap cheap. The direction pad on mine stopped working, with absolutely no apparent damage, careless handling, or even hardly any play-time of the system.
