Toys and Games Reviews of Playhut Thomas the Tank Train Engine Play TentCustomer Review: A Big Hit with Pre-schoolers Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased the Thomas Play Tent for my grandson's second birthday. He was thrilled! It didn't take him long to figure out how to enter, exit, and that he could enter the cabooses. He had his birthday party in a private banquet room at a pizza place. We set up the play tent in the middle of the room and it was a magnet for all the kids. They really enjoyed playing in it. Back at home, he spends time everyday in it playing with his puzzles, trains, or hot wheels. The instructions for folding it back up were not very clear (what instructions are anymore), but once you do it a few times, it's easy. Who cares if it isn't the most educational. It's not meant to be, just FUN!!
Customer Review: Successful birthday present for 3-year-old nephew Summary: 4 Stars
My nephew loves Thomas the train. He collects the trains, watches the DVDs and can name all the trains. We bought this for him for his third birthday and he absolutely loved it. He spent the rest of the party playing in the tent and getting his mom and I to join him (which is no easy task). He even sat inside the tent and watched a DVD on TV through the back window rather than leave the tent to get a better view.
For the parents - the tent assembles in seconds. It just pops right open. I believe it also came with a storage bag, but I'm not sure how difficult it was to get back into the bag since it was still set up and being played with when I left.
Customer Review: 2 Years, Torn into pieces, but my boys won't let it go! Summary: 5 Stars
I have two boys: 4 and 7 with so many toys at home that they have hard time finding a "new" toy at a local Walmart. I exactly remember when we bought this Thomas The Tank Engine and the Fire Truck (tents) at T R Us in MN on BlackFriday 2004. We moved to TX last year and kids started crying when I told them we were not carrying these with us. So I had to buy again and cannot believe home much kids love these (tents are again torn from atleast 5 places but they continue to play with these pretending as if they have made new windows:-). I guess these kinds of tents are going to be in our house for many more years since I am going to buy the Mega version of it now
Customer Review: Terrific for Thomas-loving Tots! Summary: 4 Stars
We have two boys- 4 and 2 yr olds who both love Thomas (2 yr old>> 4 yr old). They use their "Thomas tent" to enact Thomas stories or just to hide from their tired parents. Needless to say this playhouse triggers the use of little ones' imaginations and has been a good way for our guys to play together. It was pretty easy to unfold and even comes with a compact tote for storage. But despite the included instructions, it remains a puzzle to fold back up in its original conformation and pack up in that tote. We did manage to fold it flat and stand it up against a wall ready for use. Regardless of storage issues, thumbs up for this toy/activity.
Customer Review: Thomas play vehicle hut Summary: 4 Stars
My 6 year old grandaughter loves everything Thomas. I know she will have many hours of enjoyment playing in this hut. The tote bag to store it and/or take it along is a great idea. But, the instructions for folding it for storage are confusing. If you force it you end up warping the metal frame. This toy would be perfect if the fold away method could be made easier and safer. Also, there is a seperate piece to act as the smoke stack, but is not included in the instructions. There is also a plastic stick with elastic in it. This also is not mentioned in the instructions. These improvements will make this an even better toy.
