Toys and Games Reviews of MegalandCustomer Review: not the greatest Summary: 2 Stars
We bought Megaland for our son's second birthday. We thought this would be a great gift because he liked crawling around in pup tents at daycare and certainly likes playing in ball pits. Surprisingly, he hasn't been all that interested in crawling through it. He will a little, but he has never initiated playing with it on his own. If another child is around and their interested in playing, then he's willing to crawl through the Megaland with them.
As for sturdiness, the whole Megaland system is flimsy. We've used it very lightly, and the sections don't stay connected very well. The balls easily come out of the big part of the tent and we spend alot of time chasing them and putting them back in. We did buy an extra bag of balls as suggested by other reviewers, and that was a wise choice.
Overall, I'm disappointed that my son is not more enthusiastic about playing with this item. I'm hoping his interest in it will change as he gets a bit older. Not a total bust, but not the greatest either.
Customer Review: Decent pop up play tent Summary: 3 Stars
I purchased this tent for my 1 year old son knowing my other kids would play with it too. I like the pop up/fold up quickly concept. My problem is in the picture, it looks like all the pieces connect to each other. However, when I called the company asking them where the velcro was to attach the pieces together, they said they don't come with them. The tunnels are the only pieces that actually will connect to the tent. So, you cannot connect tents together as shown in the picture, unless you purchase your own velcro strips and attach it to the loops on the tents. The company said you just put the tents by each other to connect them. There's no way the tents will stay together when kids want to run, play, and hide in them. Even just walking through one tent to the other will cause them to seperate. Frustrating for kids who want to make a fort or hiding place. I think I'm more frustrated with the company for their lack of concern than with the toy, so that is why I wouldn't reccommend this to anyone. Argh!
Customer Review: WATCH OUT!..... Summary: 3 Stars
This product was purchased for my two boys as a Christmas gift last year...The second time I pulled it out to put it up I was poked by a wire that is located in the seam on the top of the tunnel. To keep my boys from being cut I threw the tunnel out and immediately contacted customer service with my concern and asked for a replacement tunnel.
After disregarding the fact that the seams are flimsy and potentially dangerous seeing that the wire that is supposed to be contained in them is very sharp...they went on to tell me that I had to take a picture of the playhut...the tunnel...the seam...the damage...and then they could check their inventory and see if they could help me with a replacement. I offered to read each and every box/tag number that I could for them but that I had discarded the tunnel-I've never heard back. Not only is this toy potentially dangerous but the hoops you have to jump through in order to get help from the customer service department are not worth the 100.00 price tag.
Customer Review: Baby has fun but not sturdy Summary: 4 Stars
Bought this for my son's 1st birthday; he and his cat love to play in it and knock it over while crawling up the sides. More than once the cat and my son have gotten "stuck" in the ball toss holes but it was too serious to cause me worries. I didn't hook the entire structure together as it is too big for my office but if you are using it outside you should be fine. In the ball pit part, I can't imagine more than two children being able to play at once. The balls don't stay in the ball pit due to the shallow "walls". For us the number that came with was just right since they end up every but in the ball pit.
I don't expect it to last more than a year (if I'm lucky two) with how rough they are on it. I'm already seeing fraying and string and it's bent out of shape from being knocked over and jumped on from all directions.
Overall, for fun 5 stars but quality only 2.5 stars. (Please keep in it was up everyday and they had access to playing in it all day long).
Customer Review: Not Only for the 3-7 Ages Summary: 5 Stars
Just recieved my daughters Mega Tent this morning and had a hard time getting her out of it for bedtime! I have more balls on order and waiting to recieve, because it DOES need more to have the real "ball room" effect..50 doesn't cut it. My daughter is going to be 21 months and she's having a ball with this. I even took the tents and separted them into different rooms and one outside since it is too big for our livingroom put all together. And I attached them all together in a straight line so it WOULD fit one of the rooms we have and it worked out fine. I only wish that the two smaller tents had the plastic lining on the flooring like the biggest one does, so she couldn't crawl out from the bottom and get tangled in it when it tips over or the balls wouldn't escape if I put them in one of them. So much fun, I haven't been able to put it back in the bags they come with..so I don't know how hard it is to fold back up yet..but the instructions look easy enough. Thanks!
