Customer Review: String catch solution!

My 4 and a half year old really wanted this toy. It takes some arm strength to really make it fly, as one has to pull the string pretty fast to get it zooming off the base, but my girls enjoy just watching her spin ON the base as well.
As far as the string jamming, we have found that if you place the doll on the stand and the string does not want to pull out, simply rotate the doll once around by hand while she's on the base, then try pulling the string again. That seems to take the "jam" out of it and she flies again.
One word of caution - my daughter got the Angelica with Flower launcher that came with a short cartoon DVD. We also got the Sky Dancers longer, separate DVD and it was TOO SCARY for my kids. The Sky Dancer Queen is locked up in a cage by the villain and his monster friends. Probably fine for school age kids, but it was a little too dark for the kindergarten set.
Still a fun toy that my kids are still using a month later.

My daughter used her allowance money to buy this doll. At first we tried to talk her out of it, but she "really, really, really" wanted this toy. So okay, whatever, it's her money. She brought it home and played with it and loved it! She can work it herself and her little brother loves to hear it knock into things (he's 1 year). They don't play with it for very long at a time, but it is usually one of the first toys they pull out of the box. Also, this toy is a big hit with girls 5-8, we went to a party and her friend got one. I have never heard so much excitement over a toy. I also need to mention that the one we have came with a movie, my daughter loved the movie, even though we thought it was kind of dorky.Customer Review: Skydancers-Dangerous Fun

My friend got her daughter two of these dancers for her birthday and besides just about putting an eye out a few times at the birthday party, they also claimed some of little Emily's hair as it got wound up around the base of the launcher. The girls had a lot of fun with them as long as they were played with outside and kept away from their hair. They seemed to fly up pretty well as long as an adult did it. The kids couldn't quite seem to point it in the right direction and launch it at the same time. The videos however are another story....both my daughter and her friend love them and watch them a lot! My husband can't stand the videos, but then again, they weren't made for adult males.Customer Review: This toy is pretty neat!

I was concerned about buying this toy at first, since it was recalled years ago for safty reasons but as long as you instruct those playing with it not to shoot it toward others and to keep it away from their eyes its ok (I say "those" because we have found that any adult close to this toy will play with it as much as the kids). My daughter just loves it!! I'm a little concerned on durability because it seems as though the pull string is already catching. My daughter can not wait until its warm enough outside to see just how high it will fly outdoors. We have not watched the DVD yet, so can not comment on it.Customer Review: Broken String Blues

My five year old daughter was so excited to get two skydancers for Christmas. On the first "warm" Michigan day we had, she and my husband took them for a spin. The first time Angelica's string was pulled the fastener came flying off and the string went into the launcher. There is no way to retrieve the string, tweezers are too big for the opening and there are no screws holding the bottom section together. What a devastating disappointment for her. Of course, I promised her a new one and I will superglue the fastener and string before we send it in launch mode again.
