I bought three of these for my young boys (7,5,4 then) nearly 3 years ago for Christmas for winter/indoor "burning off some steam that little boys need" activity in our unfinished basement. These cars have gone much further for my entertainment/activity dollar than I could have imagined! My boys LOVE them. They ride them inside (in the basement)and outside and they are nearly indestructible! I do agree that the assembly is a pain and we had one that came apart shortly after assembly. I called the manufacturer and they sent a new wheel assembly though and it's stayed together ever since. It's been a great product and I was very skeptical to begin with. It's worth the money...and it is fun for adults to ride too! Takes a little bit of practice to get the hang of how to make it go, but my then-four year old had it in a matter of minutes. These cars are what all the neighbor kids come over to ride, and they all have those hundreds of dollars motorized bikes and scooters and they're riding my kids no-motor plasma cars! Very cool! Would definitely buy them again!Customer Review: Great toy! It's a true award-winner.

I bought the PlasmaCar for my 2-year old son. And we, as a family, love it. Both my 4-year old son and my 5-year old daughter enjoy it as well. It is easy to assemble. The only tricky part is the last one where you put the steering wheel on. It has to be aligned properly to the front wheel and must be screwed on really tight for the car to work. The instructions require a rubber mallet to work but we were able to connect the parts just fine with a good strong whack. The alternative is a hammer on top of a rubber thing I think. But once it's put together, it's very easy to play. My 4-year old figured it out very quickly. My older kids sit together with my 2-year old to give him a ride too.
I love it because it's one of those rare enjoyable toys that does NOT require batteries! It's quite durable as well. The only thing is that it retails for around $70 but if you find it (like I did) on Amazon at a discount, it is a very good find then. Plus because it's over the minimum price for free shipping, we had it shipped for us at no cost.

I have 3 kids (11, 6 and 4 years old) and they all love this car. First of all, no batteries nor gas needed. All it takes is a little motion of the steering wheel and the car starts. (If only we can make cars that run on just human power just like this. What a big difference in the world will it makes.) No learning curve as even my 4 year-old daughter can drive it immediately. In fact, it seems that the lighter the passenger, the faster the car goes.
Another amazing thing is how it can squeeze in really tight spots. Our hardwood living room is a great place for them to play around. Perfect place would be a gym or any smooth surfaced roads.
I did the assembly in about 5 minutes. The only tool needed is a screwdriver to turn the tool wrench for the steering wheel (and comes with the car).
You would think it is a toddler toy. What is surprising is it is my 11-yr-old who adore it the most.

I have never written a review before however, after reading a few of the poor reviews this toy got I had to put my two cents in. My daughter got this toy for her second birthday and we are now approaching her 3rd and this toy is still her favorite toy. I was a little cautious about buying this toy at first because I had heard it didn't ride well outside however we had an unfinished basement so we decided it would be fine down there if nothing else. This summer we brought it outside and she just flies down the driveway and sidewalk. I can't even keep up with her. She doesn't used the wiggling motion so much but used her feet to make it go and go it does! We talked grandma into buying it for her so I am not sure how difficult the assembly was but we haven't had any problem with it falling apart. I was looking into buying my one for my 5 year old for Christmas since the younger one won't share hers with anyone!Customer Review: Awesome Toy!!!!

We have 3 boys, ages 2, 4, and 9. We started out with one last christmas when my 4 year old was 3. The boys immediately fought over the car. We now own 3 and I just bought this one for my nephew's birthday. We have a basement where they ride these! They are great! Every child who comes to play falls in love with this toy! It holds up to 220 lbs, so even the adults have a ball on them. My 4 year old insists that I get on his with him and he drives me around. I highly recommend them to anyone with a smooth flat surface such as a basement. We have not taken ours outside on the concrete because we don't want to scar up the wheels. You can get going by just turning the steering wheel back and forth, but my boys put a little foot power with it and absolutely fly! They do donuts and just LOVE LOVE LOVE these! You will not regret purchasing these if you have the right conditions to ride!
