Customer Review: Plasmacar is GREAT!

I bought this plasmacar for my special needs son, age 5. I had hoped it would help him develop more coordination with his arms since he cannot pedal traditionally yet with his weaker legs. He can get exercise and propel himself all around our house on it, and he got the hang of it right away! The plasmacar holds up to 220 pounds easily and comfortably, so I know it is a ride-on toy that will grow with him. Also, my daughter, age 4 and I ride on it, too! We are all enjoying propelling ourselves around the floors, and it is amazing how fun it is even for me! I might have to get another one just so we can chase each other around the place... The plasmacar scoots around as fast or as slowly as you rotate your arms from side to side and because it is sturdy plastic, it does not bang up the walls or damage furniture in any way. It is also a sleek, rounded design and wipes clean easily. My son has been getting quite a work out and I am very happy with how it is helping with his gross motor skills without him even realizing! He is just having a blast on his little red plasmacar! I highly recommend one for everyone! You cannot go wrong with this item, and it even assembles easily with very clear directions! My 4 year old son broke his leg last week, and the night he did it, my husband looked online and found the plasma car and ordered it. with a 4 year old, you don't get crutches, you have to carry them, put them in the stroller, or wagon, and they can't do anything really on their own, unless they scoot along the floor like a crab. He was so bummed out. The day we got this, we immediately took it to the park and put him on it, and he figured out how to make it move right away! We did have to tie his cast leg onto it with a strap, so it wouldn't fall on the ground. The second day we took it to the bike path. It is awesome! He was smiling and laughing and going pretty fast on the downhill. Like other reviews said, this thing turns on a dime, especially when you are going pretty fast. He did fall over a few times, but that is only at slow or stopped speeds, so I don't see much of a safety issue with using it with a broken leg. We now brought it inside and he rides it on the hard floors, and on the deck outside. It does scratch the wood floor a bit, but at this point, I don't really care. I am just glad to have my happy kiddo back!Customer Review: Fun without batteries

I bought this toy for my son's 3 year old birthday. I ordered it late so it came after the party and all the presents. I have to say it was really easy to put together and my son's father was trying it out in the driveway the night before we gave it to him. It's alot of fun for kids, no matter how old. When ever my nephews come over (they are 6 & 9) it's the first thing they go for. They all want to try it. But it doesn't really hold my son's interest for too long. He gets on it and rides it a for 10 or 15 minutes and then he may not look at it again for a few days. I think he would like it if it went faster but it's rider propelled so a 3 year old can't make it go as fast a an older child, still he does enjoy it when he rides it. Overall it is a fun toy and it's different than those big battery powered ride on's. It takes some thought for the child to figure out how to wiggle and steer at the same time. And it is affordable for what you get. The one thing they don't really mention is that it needs alot of flat pavement or indoor surface for it to be fun. Very disappointed. Great idea but not made to actually do what it's supposed to do under normal outside conditions. I agree with other reviewers who said this may work great inside on a smooth floor surface, but it was a huge disappointment in what we that was our "flat" driveway. I had read reviews but figured our driveway was flat - at least as it looks to the naked eye so it should work fine. Not at all. Our driveway must have the slightest of inclines to it, so the car would only go in one direction. I had ordered this for my son's birthday and he was so excited to open what he could use his imagination to be a red racecar, and then he took it outside, and it barely moved. Not at all worth the money. It's way too expensive to only work under perfect conditions. For that price, the engineering should be better to deal with outside surfaces. This toy was used for 1 day & now sits in the garage. I'm upset he got a birthday present that he doesn't enjoy. How many people have the floor space & type of floor for their children to use this in their house? Don't waste your money.Customer Review: I should have bought 4 of these!

What an awesome toy! I purchased this as a Christmas present for my 18 month old son who loves anything he can push/pull or scoot around on. I didn't think he'd be able to make it work yet but knew he could use his feet and scoot around on it regardless until he grew into it. He loves his plasmacar! Much to my surprise, on his second day of using it, he learned how to keep his feet on the footrests and propel it using the steering wheel alone, so I was wrong about him not being old enough to figure it out. It came pretty much assembled except for putting the wheels in which was very easy. It seems to be built very sturdy, but it is still lightweight and easy for my son to move around, and light enough for me to easily pick it up to put it away. My only problem is that his three older sisters keep trying to take it away and ride on it themselves. I even had a turn and it's so much fun! I should have bought one for every child because none of them like to share it. I think this is a fantastic toy and easy enough for anyone to ride, from my 18 month old to myself!
