I ordered this toy for my 9 month old girl based on previous positive reviews and I was pleasantly surprised at how much we both enjoyed it. In just a few days, she learned how to use the mallet to beat on the drum.
Construction of the drum is very solid. It is well made and I like the story behind Plan Toys.
I would highly recommend this product to anyone with a child over 9 months, even though the age suggestion is 19 months.

I bought this toy as a Christmas gift for my kids with the intention of introducing them to music outside of the electronic, battery-operated guitars and drums in brightly colored plastic tones. The sound is great. The look is great. It's a toy I don't mind having laying around. Of course the drum stick was lost soon after purchase. But anything, including hands, make some noise on this and serves the purpose of learning rhythm or making music.Customer Review: Lovely, versitile, well made instrument

I purchased this drum for my 3 1/2 year old, but it is almost as much fun for my 9 month old. The odd looking cuts on the surface create different musical tones when the drum is hit. It is not too loud, even with heavy pounding. The drum has rubber feet so it doesn't skid off the table. I was a little disappointed. The reviews were very good, so I thought it would be great for my 14 month old granddaughter to hear the different sounds. There is hardly any sound differences and it mostly all just sounds the same. It is very sturdy and maybe some day she will enjoy it, but I am not sure what age would enjoy this toy. It seems pretty boring for all ages. Her favorite part was chewing on the drum stick!Customer Review: beautiful, low volume drum with a GREAT sound!

my 3 yr old has had this drum for 2 yrs now and still loves it when I pull it out! (we rotate toys) It is fun to hit and makes a VERY satisfying sound. It's light tone is beautiful and listening to her play is is wonderful and not ear piercing. It is also VERY durable, so whenever we have a "rough and tumble" friend over for music group, I don't have to worry about damage!
We LOVE this toy!
