Toys and Games Reviews of Plan Toy Baby Walker

Customer Review: Safe and sturdy walker!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is one of the best and affordable walkers on the market for the high quality it is. It's solid and sturdy wood with non-slip wheels (good for tile and wooden floors). It's well balanced and has an adjustable handle-bar for two heights, as well as a tension wheel to adjust the speed that your little one is walking. Forget the plastic ones--the wheel base is usually too small so they kick the wheels as they walk, they're too light-weight so topple easily, and the plastic wheels are inefficient and slippery on anything other than carpet (which has to be thin or the wheels will get bogged down). My daughter has used this walker since 10 months of age and she loves it! She could have used it earlier, but it took me some time to find the right one (we had borrowed an awful plastic one and learned our lesson when she toppled over while pushing it). We'll get years of use out of it as it's also fun to put things in and push around.

Customer Review: Better than Plastic
Summary: 4 Stars

This is a good walker for babies who have strong balance already and who are very close to walking or already walking. Otherwise the bar being in the back can cause it to flip back when baby puts too much weight on the bar. The walker does not turn w/out tilting it back and using the rear wheels, so I have to help my baby turn it. The product makers needed to include two screw end cap things (don't know what they're called) that are set inside the wood in order to rotate the bar to the lower height.

I think it is actually helping my baby to develop the right muscles for walking, unlike what they say about the round walkers (the kind that surround the baby). I like that it has a knob to tighten so the walker slows down.

It's bright and pretty to look at, better than those big plastic things. The blocks are of good quality.
My baby likes it !

Customer Review: Great Walker, Blocks....
Summary: 4 Stars

This is a great walker. My son has been walking for several months and could use this right from the beginning. When he was really unstable we did have to hold the front to keep it from flopping back though. You can lock the wheels to help prevent mishaps when you are not helping.

My only real issue is the blocks. I like them overall, but it gives you 12 cylinder shaped blocks and only 6 rectangle blocks. Unless you are building a Colosseum, this ratio seems off to me. You can do a lot more with rectangle blocks and they are easier for young ones to stack. Also the pant can mark floors and walls - also the "natural" blocks have colored marks all over them. I find this happens with safer paint though and am okay with it.

Overall I love and work buy again. Just wish the block ratio was updated.

Customer Review: tipsy
Summary: 3 Stars

Although well-made etc. I would not recommend this as a walker for infants in the early stages of walking--it's not weighted in the front so when my daughter would try to pull herself up while holding onto the handle or if she put any type of forward weight down on the handle it always tipped, sending her back down to the ground.

Now she's 15 months and walking and is still not interested in, maybe down the road she'll like to push stuff around in it. It comes with a set of blocks and they have been a hit. I would still recommend this product even though my daughter has not taken a shine to it, it's high-quality and durable, just not as a walker.

Customer Review: Comes and goes
Summary: 4 Stars

We bought this walker when our daughter was 8 months. It was great for her to learn to walk with because you can adjust the tension on the wheels. Once able to turn corners, she stopped playing with it because it is difficult to manipulate since it is rather heavy. Now, at 18 months she zooms around with it again. The rubber on the wheels leaves skid marks on the hard wood, but it buffs out.

The blocks are great for sorting, stacking, loading and unloading. It's a great walker to start out with, as it is safe and secure. (she also used to sit on the platform while I would push her around- good times.)
