Much like the card fans made from a button and two lids, these card holders are made to hold cards for those that find it difficult. My grandma has a neurological disorder and was having to lay all the cards face down on the table and look through them each time to find the one she wanted. These holders allow her to slide them in and keep them visible (fanned out) at all times. The advantage of these to the homemade type is that they stand up on the table by themselves and don't need to be held at all. My only complaint is that sometimes the cards pull each other out. In other words, pulling out one can bring another with it, dropping it on the table for everyone to see. There is a bit of a learning curve, particularly for people who have motor difficulties that require this device in the first place.
Overall, this is a great product and I am very happy it exists. Just don't be too disappointed if you find it comes with its own set of difficulties to resolve.

Very sturdy.... just what I wanted. I went for the more expensive type so I didn't have to worry about breakage.. My 6 year old grandson had problems holding cards, so this does the job.... They stand up by themselves or you can hold them.. There is a thin layer spongy material inside - on each side - so the cards don't fall out.... FYI: The only suggestion I would make to the mfg. is that this material be glued down better because.... at first... my grandson stuck a card between the inside spongy material on one side and the ouside plastic and we almost had to tear the card to get it out.... but as long as you are aware and careful... everything works great... I wish I had read reviews.had purchased another brand of card holders from you and were very satisfied. These came and the odor was overwhelming.I have left them outside for 24 hours washed with smelly soap and put in a closed bag with perfumed dryer sheet and still find them unusable for preschool greatgrandkids. anyone with suggestions please let me knowCustomer Review: Card holder review

This isn't really a toy. It is designed to hold a lot of playing cards (e.g., bridge requires 13 cards per hand). I bought this for an elderly person who has trouble with strength in her hands and some shaking. Although these may work for a person with reasonable strength, it doesn't work well if you can't push the cards in firmly.Customer Review: So Easy

These holders are wonderful for my kids, ages 6 and 9. They use them all the time. They're so easy to use, they stand on their own, you don't have to hold them. Playing cards has become so easy, now they can see all of their cards without laying them on the table or shuffling thru them to find what they need. Excellent product!
