Customer Review: Great Idea, but Test it First

Perhaps 13 years ago, my aunt gave me a tunnel very similar to the Neon See-Me Connecting Tunnel for a Christmas present. Its huge size made it the most inviting present under the tree, and I loved the prospect of being able to crawl, climb, and hide in my own little place. When I did so, however, I found that the metal hoops that maintained its shape were very hard and hurt my hands and knees. The lack of insulation between the metal and the interior of the tunnel made traveling through it or spending any length of time inside it very uncomfortable (even through a sleeping bag!), and the toy was soon relegated to the basement.
Also, though the tunnel was supposed to be collapsible, the wires were so stiff that it was extremely difficult to compress it back to the size of the box it came in, which caused much frustration and difficulty in storage.
The idea of a six-foot tunnel is still as enticing as ever, and the tunnel I received and the See-Me tunnel are not exactly alike, but I would still recommend parents test this one out at a local toy store to see if the wires are protected enough for a child to be comfortable and happy inside.

I bought this toy when my son was just over 6 months old and crawling. The tubular construction is padded so it is easy on the knees. Another thing that made it a great choice is the peek windows that allow the child to see you or crawl towards where they hear your voice. My son is now almost 5 and it is still one of his favorite toys. He and his friends pull it out and have a blast. The best thing is that it is so well made that it is still in great shape. My son was a late in life child so we are able to buy just about anything we want for him, and we do. (Although we do rotate and give to charity quite often to keep him from having too much) So when I say this is in the top 5 of all the toys ever....it is saying something. So much so that I am ordering another one for our 7 month old nephew for Christmas.Customer Review: My cat loves it!!!!!

I actually bought this tunnel for my cat, and she loves it! The idea occurred to me because I bought a desk which came in a tall thin box and my cat turned it into a playhouse, sliding into it and bringing her toys in. I got the tunnel about 3 wks ago and it has become her haven: she loves to slide in it, and to have me throw her toys in so she can slide in after them and play with them. Also, whenever she's upset about anything, it has become the place where she automatically goes. Another great part is that it collapses into a 17" circle and weighs virtually nothing, so whenever I have company I just put it away and it doesn't clutter. If you have an active cat, especially if you're away from the house a lot, this is great!Customer Review: SIX YEARS AND STILL IN GREAT SHAPE!!

My 8-year-old son has been using (and abusing) this tunnel for six years now. He doesn't just crawl in it... He also throws it around the house and yard, walks around with it over his body like a Mummenshanz puppeteer, and bends it, hooks, it, stuffs it, and otherwise tries his darndest to wreck it.
And you know what? The tunnel has held up perfectly. No rips, tears, holes, broken hoops... It seems almost indestructible!
Definitely one of the best investments I've made in my son's play life.
Since I first wrote this review, my daughter started playing with this tunnel. She's five now, and is just as rough on the thing as my son is. Still holding up, still great fun.
Customer Review: must have every toy

This is a great toy! I bought it for my one year old daughter for her birthday. We put it up at night, and in the morning when she notices it folded up she immediately points at it to have us unfold it. Then she literally dives into the tunnel. (The cats also like it!) We play peek-a-boo and tag. She has been walking since 9 1/2 months, so I was unsure if she would be interested in crawling through such an object, but she absolutely loves it. And it is very safe. I am told by a child development specialist that entering tunnels and things of that sort is phenomenal for a toddler's development. For such a cheap price, I am buying these for all her little friends' birthdays. A must have.
