Customer Review: Good but could be better

The construction of this Bed/Tent is decent all in all. The zipper is a little flimsy but other than that is seems solid. It uses the standard shock-corded poles you find on any other tent. My daughter loves it and loves to play in it. The major problem is that it has a solid bottom. This is supposed to be a bed tent. How do you put this on a bed and still use bed sheets? You can't. This replaces the fitted sheet you normally put over your mattress. I suppose you could just throw a blanket in there and be done with it, but that's not a very attractive solution. I actually cut out the bottom of the tent in a "U" shape. I kept the fitted sheet in place on 3 sides, but cut out the front and the bottom. It did the job and allowed us to use actual bed sheets with it, but my solution has some drawbacks. The bottom was serving in a structural capacity, keeping at least some of the shape of the tent. Without the bottom it tends to spread out a little too far and you can't zip the door closed without pulling the flaps together with your hands. It does still work well enough, and my daughter likes it better with real sheets on the bed so for now I am satisfied with it.
