Customer Review: A tent that your kids will LOVE!

My 2.5 year old son received this tent as an early chrsitmas gift from his grandparents. He absolutely loves it. It's the first thing he asks to play with in the morning and doesn't want to stop playing in it to go to bed. It's been up in our living room since we got it four days ago and his interest has not yet dwindled a single bit. I love that it allows him to play imaginitively (puts his stuffed animals in there for naps, lays down pillows and blankets inside and asks me and daddy to lay with him in it, etc) while just getting him used to the ideas of tents in general, since we are outdoorsy people and plan for him to spend many future nights inside a tent with us.
It really does set up in seconds, with hardly any effort. I bet even my son could do it if he were just tall enough to reach the very top part that you need to push down on to secure when setting up. it has held up to his constant abuse so far with no problems, but time will tell how well the seams and zippers hold up. He learned to zip and unzip the main door quickly (zips very smoothly-no snags as of yet) and also has lots of fun popping his head in and out of the circle door. Unlike what is shown on the picture here, our tent has a square yellow flap that covers the hole on the outside and fastens to the tent at the bottom of the square with velcro. The square flap can be rolled and tied up and out of the way with ties that hang from the top of the flap. Otherwise our tent is the exact same. I'm already convinced that it'd be hard to find a kid who would not like a toy like this--if I hadn't already finished all my shopping, this is what I'd be getting for my niece and nephew.
The only thing I wish this tent had is a zipper along the bottom of the main door as well, so that if used in the summer, no bugs or anything could crawl in. No biggie though, since it would never actually be used for camping--it has mesh sections on the top to be able to view in/out, and without a rainfly this would let water in anyway. Absolutely perfect for a play tent though...highly recommended.
