Toys and Games Reviews of Pacific Play Tents Lil Nursery TentCustomer Review: wonderful Summary: 5 Stars
It is really a nice tent. Durable and roomy.
I have a 10 months and a 2 year old one and they both fit in there. And some toys.
Now that doesn't mean they stay in there. ;-)
The first time I put this tent up I was worried that it will be difficult. Of course I had onlookers smerking at me including my husband who thought this was a waste of time and money. But then enjoyed this for his kids.
But it was easy to install and also to take down later on.
And the kids enjoyed a little area of their own. They were protected from the wind and also could see outside.
I put a towel on the floor to give it some cushion. My kids don't sit still much so they/we get use out of it but not like others write where they kids sit and play for hours.
That is not us.
It folds neatly together and fits into this small carry on bag it comes with.
A nice little arrangemnt. Now, the material for the floor is not thick and it even says on the package avoid putting it on hot surface. So you need to put a towel in there or some matt or something that the kids can sit in it. Beachsand can get hot.But that is normal and no big deal. You don't sit on the hot sand neither, but put a towel on it.
I can recommend it.
I haven't seen any other on the beach or at the pool. As a matter of fact I have never seen anyone else so I can't compare how it hold up to the other tents offered on the market.BUt it is nice and works well.
Enjoy.
Customer Review: PERFECT for the beach!! Summary: 5 Stars
I wasn't sure if this would be easy to use or if our baby would even sleep in it on our recent beach trip. This product FAR exceeded my expectations. It's compact, easy to set up, and the perfect size for the beach. Three of the sides are ventilated so that there was nice air flow to keep the baby cool. He was never hot or sweaty. It was also nice that the one side was not mesh, so we could turn it so that that side faced the sun. Our 3 month old slept in this peacefully for hours while we were on the beach. We had several people stop and comment on what a great idea this little tent was. We even saw another couple with an older baby in the same tent, and the baby was playing and having a great time. The bottom is waterproof and helps to keep sand out. We did put the diaper bag inside to keep it from blowing, as it was fairly breezy, but this really wasn't a big deal. It kept the diaper bag from getting sandy and it was easier to just put something inside to weigh it down than it would have been to deal with stakes. I will definitely recommend this to anyone who is hesitant about taking a baby to the beach. It was absolutely perfect for protecting him from the sun as well. We did put sunscreen on his skin, but this probably would have provided adequate protection on its own. I wish they had had these when my other kids were little.
Customer Review: Good for indoors and outdoors Summary: 4 Stars
I bought one of these tents last year when our daughter was 10 months old, and we wanted to work in the yard. Unfortunately she was a little weirded out initially by the tent, and us zipping her in. I then decided to move it indoors, and then get inside with her, and then play with her. It has never gone outside again. She and all her friends love playing with the tent. I think she would go inside it again if I had put it outside, but it was easier to keep it inside.
The one concern I have with these tents is the siding. It is good that you have mesh (so you can have some air flow through the sides as well). When we first used the tent, it was in the middle of the HOT TEXAS summer, and honestly, she was not getting much airflow into the tent. If you don't have a good breeze, those tents seem like a hotbox (just without the direct sunlight).
I would recommend using the tent indoors before using it outside (especially for those under 12 months), and make sure you have some air-flow.
Educational value of 2 stars because the children learn how to zipper the door open and closed. These things are pretty durable, good sized, and easy to break down and pop up. I really recommend, as long as you take precautions.
Customer Review: Nice outdoor shelter, easy to take anywhere Summary: 4 Stars
This is a really easy-to-assemble little tent that makes a sun shelter anywhere.
It also fits into a small bag that you can throw in a tote to take down to the beach or the backyard, etc.
Simple assembly: There are two "strings" with mini, shock-resistant poles strung tightly on them. The tent itself has a pocket at each of the four corners. Each side of the tent has a sleeve above the pocket. You just slide each of the poles through two sleeves opposite one another and fit the ends of them into the pockets. The poles criss-cross at the top. There are strings at the top to tie the tent to the criss-crossed poles if you feel like it (It didn't look necessary to me.) The tent is standing right up!
Note: The poles are supposed to create a rigid curve so the tent will stand up. This means you may have to work (just a little, nothing difficult) to get them into the pockets while keeping the bend.
The tent does create shade and protect from UV rays, but I noticed that it doesn't stay cool inside.
I'd recommend this if you want an easy way to help keep your baby from being sunburned. It looks like it will protect from bug bites, too, because there is mesh netting on the door of the tent, which fastens with velcro.
Customer Review: Very unsatisfied with the play tent Summary: 2 Stars
I am very unsatisfied with the portable play tent. I bought for my 9 month old son for outside in our backyard and for an upcoming trip to the beach. Unfortunately, we will not be able to take to the beach if the company doesn't help me out!! First of all, I was disappointed that the outside flap is secured in five places with velcro. A 9 month old is old enough to figure out how to get out of the tent when velcro is the only thing between him and the outside. The writeup on Amazon said that the tent was for kids birth-3 years. On the outside of the tent box, it says that it is for babies birth-9 months. Also, when I put the tent up the last time, the pole splintered in the middle, so I cannot use the play tent at all now. I have not called the company yet, but I am hoping that they replace the pole at no cost to me. We have only used the tent 3 times. I have a different tent for my older son, so I already knew how to use the poles, so the pole did not break because I didn't know what I was doing. I think it was just defective. Overall, I think the tent is a waste of money, but I would like to be able to use mine since I have already wasted my money!
