I'm not sure about the negative reviews. The sit and spin that I had when I was a kid was quite similar to this other than the color (mine was yellow) and the extra designs on this one. Maybe everyone just wants it to be exactly the same? Well, Cory loves this one anyways. It works well for him, it looks fine, and it's a good way to get his energy out. These things were made for kids anyway, not for parents. Who cares if it's not close enough to the one you had? Maybe you care, but your kid certainly doesn't know the difference. I selected this toy for my 3yr old grand daughter. She's very active and needs something to burn off that energy that can be done inside. Due to the somewhat negative reviews of a like item, I ordered this one for Christmas. It didn't work at all on our thick carpet, but worked well on shorter carpet and kitchen floor. I think she is a bit big for the toy and it doesn't seem to be well made. But she enjoys it and that is what is most important. It's too bad that the toy makers can't make a really sturdy version.Customer Review: Great toy

My 18 month old daughter loves this toy. I was a little worried she wouldn't be strong enough to spin herself around, but she proved me very wrong. The only thing you have to be careful about is that your child doesn't turn it into a 'stand and spin', which for younger children is probably more of an issue. My cousins also have one and they love it, too. I have also read that the spinning motion is good for a child's vestibular system, and helps develop coordination, balance and learning.Customer Review: Always wanted one...

My review is simply meant to echo the others, as I agree the spin around is good old fashioned fun! My 2 year old loves it and quite frankly in these cold Illinois winters, so do I. It's a great toy for some indoor active play. It's quiet, w/o all the bells and whistles seen on other models and it does indeed spin well on carpet. Hear, hear to the reviewer who wants them to make an adult one! I always wanted one as a kid and now I'm too durn big...dang! Great toy!Customer Review: Too Small for Larger Kids

This product was much smaller than I thought it would be. I ordered this item for my 20 month old son and he can't comfortably fit on the seat and turn himself around. He has to try to lean himself backwards so that the handle doesn't rub his belly. Yes he is a big kid (35 lbs) but the weight limit given is for up to 45 lbs. We have to get a bigger one for him. If you have a child that is larger than average, I would recommend a bigger sit n spin.
