My daughter LOVES her Jumbo Music Block, but this is a review of the cartridge. First of all, the cartridge is NOT needed for the block to work. The block has its own built-in set of songs that relate to the shape of the object oriented on the top of the block - "Triangle 1,2,3" "Square - find them everywhere" etc.
The cartridge just adds different music that has nothing to do with the orientation of the block. It is more for the parent who gets tired of the same song, not the kid.
I also have to note that the seller of this item when I bought it was not Amazon, it was sold by some third party through Amazon. The item I received was without a box and appeared to be used, or at least a customer return. It worked fine, but I wasn't happy and they eventually gave me a refund.
