I think, mostly for nostalgic reasons, this version of checkers is more fun than the others. I remember playing checkers on the big square carpet with huge checker pieces that I could barely fit into my hands. The checker pieces were big and fun to stack and handle while you waited for your opponent to take their turn. I think the huge pieces were neat for the same reason that the Super Mario. Bros 3 level on SNES, where everything was supersized -it was different.

Since I was a little girl, I would often volunteer the big carpet checker board for my Barbies (what Barbie would not care to have a home with carpet??)

I recently remembered the Jumbo Checkers since my younger brother and sister are about the age that they would like to play checkers. They live far from the city, so they busy their time with board games or DVDs. I'm getting them this in the hopes they find it as fun as I did.
