This puzzle game is really fun and one can easily get lost in trying to solve as many as one can or in a difficult puzzle. The purpose of the tangram puzzle games is to assemble the different pieces so that they make some shape. The game comes with many puzzles (over 50) included of assorted shapes (many of them quite ingeniously arranged) and degrees of difficulty and the more difficult ones can be challenging for children and even adults. When you have completed all these puzzles, you can either try to beat your best time or you can go to the website included in the instruction manual and get more puzzles from the website. The puzzle is made of sturdy wood and the pieces are quite beautiful in a simple old-fashioned way.
Description of Tangram Puzzle
The shroud of ancient Chinese mystery and folklore has kept this brain teaser at the forefront of international interest throughout the years, attracting the attention of varied greats from Edgar Allen Poe to Napolean. Perhaps adapted from the yanjitu furniture set of seven tables popular during Song Dynasty China, or born of the legend of a sloppy imperial servant who shattered an expensive tray into seven tan-like pieces, we prefer the great American puzzlist, Sam Lloyd's spoof claim that it was invented 4,000 years ago by the God "Tan". The object is to arrange all seven pieces called "tans" into one of many possible forms and shapes that contain all seven pieces in a non-overlapping manner - a tantalizingly difficult task, but also extremely satisfying upon completion.
