I was expecting a better quality product. A woodburning pen produces a very soft/light impression on the wood, which could be barely seen. Plus, one of the cutout pieces was missing from the box.
I've had a similar kit when I was a child, which was much more fun to use and easier to operate.

Craft-minded older kids will enjoy the breadth of activities supplied in this 3-D Wood Burning Kit. A wood-burning tool that plugs into a household socket is used to make designs in wood, corkboard, or leather. The tool's tip gets extremely hot, so work safety habits are a must. Leather work gloves (not supplied) will prevent inevitable slips that could cause hand burns. Working with the tool in wood or leather is a truly satisfying experience and can teach young artisans the eye-hand skills that are the foundation of artistic and mechanical ability.
