The food is cute and I liked the idea of wood products over plastic or cardboard. But I think they're a little heavy a dense for little ones to play with. We LOVE the Melissa and Doug fruits and veggies that are plastic. But we have our play kitchen in our kitchen on the wood floor and I can stand the noise of the food falling on the floor. Would probably like this product better if we used it on carpet. And it would hurt if dropped on a little toe.Customer Review: Good quality, well built toys

These are the cutest things ever! I am on a "wooden toy" kick and I have made about $200 in recent purchases from Melissa & Doug to Kidkraft and I am so pleased with ALL the items I have gotten recently. These toys are great in size and I think they will work well with most kitchens. They are actually painted and not pieces of wood covered with stickers; they appear to be pretty good quality and I think they are going to last a pretty long time!Customer Review: Cute, Appear durable, but some items are different than in pic

Overall, I think this product is adorable, and seems durable (although only time will tell with the paint). The Bologna is the cutest thing!!! The only thing I noticed that varied from the picture/description is the Ice Cream. It is only a tiny bit larger than the yogurt, and it's a cheesy blue, unlike the brown one in the picture. The kids will love these on Christmas morning, so overall, I'd buy them again!Customer Review: Loved the idea but food didn't hold up

We bought this for our 4 and 2 year-old for christmas 2009. 4 months later, the paint is coming off and the wood is full of dings and dents. The kids aren't terribly hard on it and I would have expected the wood to be somewhat more sturdy. I loved the shapes, especially for the orange juice and yogurt but the products are chipped and dented now. I wish they would have been somewhat more sturdy.Customer Review: Loads of fun for my "Little Chef"

As with all of the Melissa & Doug Food Sets. They are solid, built right for little hands and allow for a lot of imaginative preparing of meals.
We play "restaurant"...My daughteer makes menus and I play the customer who is very hungry. I have play money and she takes my order, prepares the food and devour the meal. I pay my bill and extend my best complements to the chef. Good Fun !
