Customer Review: Very Very Nice and Well Built

Very attractive, durable and well built toy. Purchased for my 3 & 4 yr old daughters and they love it. Based on prior reviews about the animals, we bought the Schleich animal set at the same time. (Didn't want to disappoint the girls on Christmas morning!) In the end, the animals that come with the set might not be up to par with most Melissa and Doug toys I've seen or owned, but I didn't think they were so bad. I'm sure my girls would have been (and are) just fine with them. So now, we just have 'extra' animals.Customer Review: Great Barn- Not so Great Animals!

We love love love this barn! My two daughters play with it every day and it has held up great. The wood is smooth and well painted and we have had no problems with wear and tear issues. That said... the animals are cheap and not so friendly looking! They remind me of the cheapo plastic animals you buy from the dollar store! Not the high quality we are used to from Melissa and Doug products. So.. buy the barn and toss the silly animals! We replaced ours with nicer rubber animals.

My 2 1/2 year old son who loves animals absolutely adores this little barn! Even though he doesn't have a long attention span (barely one at all!), he will spend lots of time with the barn and the little animals that come with it. He loves opening and closing the doors and talking to the animals. It's been very sturdy as he has climbed and stood on it several times. The little 2-piece fence did break off, but could be glued back on easily. The rest of it hasn't even flinched. ;)Customer Review: Disappointing

We purchased this toy for my 2-year-old to replace an obnoxious plastic one! I was disappointed. I had picked this farm out over a year earlier with high hopes of it being a hit with my boy who was facinated by farms, tractors, etc.
He just turned 5 and has never picked up the barn to play. I am the one who plays with it! He rarely even showed interest when I encouraged the play. I think the animals are lacking, and the lack of color in the barn is also a turn-off.
Customer Review: handle and doors broke after 1 day of rough play!

This is a great barn, lots of fun with lots of opportunity for imaginative play. That being said, I'm very disappointed in the way parts of it are put together, the handles are glued on with no screws or nails. My son is very tough on toys, but even if he wasn't, how long could you carry this around by the handles before they came off? The runners that hold the sliding doors on the front and back are also glued on. My son hit one at the wrong angle and it popped off.
